National forewordThis standard has been prepared by ECISS/TC 31 ‘Steel castings’ (Secretariat: France).The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Eisen und Stahl (Steel and Iron Standards Committee), Technical Committee 11 Stahlguss.
AmendmentsThis standard differs from DIN 1681, June 1985 edition, DIN 17182, May 1992 edition, and DIN 17205, April 1992 edition, as follows:
a) DIN 1681:1985-061) Steel grades GS200 (1.0449) and GS240 (1.0455) have been included.2) Steel grade GS – 52 (1.0552) has been dropped.3) The steel names have been changed as follows (with the material numbers left unchanged):
