Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, Delhi

Every Thursday, the Tagore International School teachers teach yoga to students in the Shanghai School and every Friday, a Shanghai school teacher teaches calligraphy to the TIS students.

This is done via VSAT video-conferencing.Similar such collaborations have been done with schools in Japan, France, UK & Singapore.

A Web based School Management ERP which provides an interactive collaborative platform for all entities & stakeholders – students, parents, teachers, management and administrators.

The challenge of meeting out resistance for the new system, migration & verification of huge user base to the new platform and training the 6000 parents and 250 teachers was duly met by the school.

22 years ago, 8 porters carried 900 books over a 12,000 foot pass down into the tiny village of Junbesi in Nepal to open the very first READ Community Library and Resource Center. Rural Education and Development (READ) has been setting up community libraries & resource centers across India, Nepal and Bhutan. So far 55 such centers have been opened up reaching 1.8 million people. In order to incorporate sustainability in the model, READ has been seeding local business like furniture factories, ambulance services, storefront rentals, sewing centers etc.

A bold attempt by UKM Medical Faculty to make the hidden curriculum and generic competencies of leadership, teamwork, interpersonal & communication skills, professionalism, medical ethics etc. to be explicit and thoroughly assessed among the undergraduates.

The 4 day PPD camps held at a distance away from the campus are attended by Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5 medical students at the beginning of the respective academic session.

Jungle trekking, role-plays, sketches, aerobics, debates, group projects are some of the methods employed in these camps.

A competency based skill development training programme for the motorcycle technicians of the country.

The theoretical and demonstrative training of learners at training centers and then attaching them to actual work place to practice what is learnt. Learners are exposed to real world situations and the challenges in the field.

A perfect example of education-work linkage where industry is working shoulder to shoulder with an institute.

The unqualified medical practitioners mainly operate in the remote and rural areas and exploit the ignorance and need of the poor. In order to mitigate the gap in supply and demand of health facilities HMRI initiated this project to mainstream these health practitioners.

Out of the 1 lakh unqualified medical practitioners in AP 50% have registered for this programme.

HMRI has developed the concept, e-content as per the designed curriculum, training material etc. and the overall conduct of the programme with support and participation of concerned Govt. bodies.

Public Private Partnership in Vocational Education and Skills Training

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROJECT REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICAThe Department of Economic Development & Tourism of Kwa Zulu Natal, NIIT and CII

The Department of Economic Development & Tourism of Kwa Zulu Natal; NIIT and CII reached an agreement to train 10,000 no-so-privileged young people in ICT and BPO skills over 5 years. This enabled the establishment of Software Training and Business Process Institute. NIIT provided curriculum, unique methodology, expert trainers, assessment, blended learning, internship support and over time methods of technology transfer. The Govt. provided budget and logistics support and CII facilitated job experience for successful trainees at ICT and BPO companies in India. The project was commenced in a record 98 days from the start date and has been adopted as National Priority to skill and upskill in other provinces in South Africa.
