Mootup assignments begin when a teacher fills out the easy and simple
Create Debate form.
Codes are created and distributed to each student.
At home or school, students enter their code at Mootup.com
to log in to the assignment.
Students then see the details of the assignment.
The first student in a pair to log in gets to enter their Opening
Argument.
Student B then writes their response.
Student identities are kept anonymous in the student views.
Student A receives an email saying its their turn to write another
argument.
Both students continue until they complete the number of rounds
chosen by the teacher to complete the assignment by the due date.
Mootup assignments can be:• Short, done in only a day or two
Or• Long, over one or more weeks
It’s all up to the number of rounds and due date chosen by the teacher.
The teacher can always see the status of every student, even
seeing word counts.
During the assignment, the teacher can begin reading the arguments.
This gives the teacher a wider window to grade, not having to wait until the due date to begin reading
what students have written.
