• To understand the laws of perception of an image and applythem to the analysis of photographs and works of art.

Materials needed• Pencil or pen

Presentation• This task has a low level of difficulty. •• This is basically an observation and analysis activity. Students

have to look at the images and describe the laws of perceptionthat have been used, filling in the information in the spaceprovided.

Evaluation criteria Assess the completed activity using the following criteria. Thestudent has:

1. Correctly identified the laws of perception and function of eachimage.

2. Made a clear analysis of the three images.

3. Described the concepts in English that is easy to understand.

4. Turned in a finished project that is neat and tidy.

(See Teacher’s Book, Introduction, page 6, Evaluation criteria.)

Let’s explore...• Calligram. Text, generally poetry, in which the words written

form a shape that represents the poem’s subject.

Moments in art...• Dadaism incorporates pieces of reality, altering its formal
