Operation: Desert Storm and Minotaur

Pathways into Darkness

John Savage
bungie was founded by two chicago university students alex seropian and jason jones. these two former classmates coincidentally both developed code for mac computers in order to stay away from the highly competitive PC market. and had built their own games. alex developed operation desert storm and jason developed minotaur. they decided to join forces and publish both of their games. both sold about 2500 copies a piece, but it was minotaur that would stand out due to its network play ability. After minotaur the duo decided to develop their first FPS pathways into darkness. after traveling to tradeshows and demoing their application pathways into darkness became a huge success rewarding the team with enough money to invest in an office rather than continue to write code in alexs apartment
