Where is Redlands?

o The city of Redlands, California is approximately 115km east of Los Angeles,

and 70km west of Palm Springs. It is a small city of 70,000 and is home to both

the University of Redlands, and to geographic information systems (GIS) giant

Esri. Surrounded by the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest and

in close proximity to Joshua Tree National Park, Redlands is a picturesque

town just an hour away from the beach, LA, the mountains and the desert.

How is the University of Redlands accredited and ranked?

o $37,613 (estimated 2014 costs, including housing and fees)

o There is no application fee.

How long does the program take?

o One year.

When do I need to arrive in the US?

o Students in the March 2014 program will check in on-campus the morning of

Monday, February 24, 2014. Students in the September 2014 program will

arrive in late August.

Who will be my point of contact at the University?

o For India students, Swathi Suresh is the representative.

What are the application requirements?

o Completed application (download application PDF; application must be

signed, scanned and emailed to appropriate University representative)

o Transcripts from all institutions where you earned a degree; transcript(s)

must be evaluated by IERF (instructions on application)

o 500-word Essay (instructions on application)

o Additional recommendations (optional)

o GMAT or GRE test scores (optional)

o TOEFL score for applicants whose primary language is not English

Do I need to take the GMAT or GRE?

o The GMAT and GRE are recommended, and will be considered for admission,

but are not required.

Do I need to take the TOEFL?

o A TOEFL minimum score of 213 for the computer-based test or 80 for the

Internet-based test is required for international students whose primary

language is not English.

How many classes will I take?

o The MBA consists of 12 classes, the final of which is a Global Strategy

Capstone.

o Students take two classes per session. Each session is 8 weeks long.

How many students in my classes?

o MBA classes are capped at 30.

Will I need to obtain a visa?

o Yes. International students studying in the U.S. need an F-1 visa.

When is the deadline to apply?

o Applications for the March 2014 program should be submitted by January 1,

2014. Applications for September 2014 should be submitted by June 2, 2014.

Applications submitted after this date will be considered on a waitlist basis.

Where will I live?

o In apartments on or within walking distance of campus. Apartments are

furnished, and most are 2-bedroom apartments, with kitchens, shared by 4

students.

o Students may prepare their own meals or purchase meals on campus in our

state of the art dining facility offering a wide array of organic and vegetarian

meals.

o Students may use University shuttles for transportation into town for

shopping, movies, restaurants, etc.

Are student services provided?

o Yes, students in the accelerated MBA program will be assigned to a Student

Services Manager who assists students with academic schedules, course

changes, and tutoring requests.

o The University’s Armacost Library offers full academic library services on

campus and via the Internet.

o The Office of Diversity and Inclusion serves as a catalyst to the campus

community on matters related to diversity, multicultural programming and

cultural pluralism.

Is there a mentoring program?

o Yes. The School of Business mentoring program provides students with an

opportunity to be paired with a seasoned professional—often a University

Alumni—to help students fulfill their professional and personal aspirations,

build self-confidence and support overall academic and career success.

Why should I do an accelerated structure?

o Students who wish to earn their MBA in one year do so in an accelerated

format. This full-time, focused study format gives students a concentrated

opportunity to develop and hone their business skills, to participate in

mentorship and corporate visit programs, and to enhance English skills.

Do I need to purchase health insurance?

o International students MUST have health insurance for the duration of their

studies in the United States. You have the option of buying insurance in your

home country before your departure or after arrival in Redlands.

Insurance purchased in your home country must be equivalent to the one

offered by University of Redlands.

o Please see specific minimum coverage requirements for health insurance:

Medical benefits at least US $50,000 per person per accident or illness; Repatriation of remains US $7500; Medical evacuation US $10,000; and Deductibles not exceeding US $500 per accident or illness

If you chose to purchase insurance in your home country, you must bring proof of coverage.
