Primary

Primary research is something only you research

you can research exactly what you want, how you want, and don't have to rely on other peoples work.

It can take a lot of time and cost a lot of money to conduct primary research

Secondary

Using other peoples research It already exists, so it saves time.

In some cases, it is very expensive.

Quantitative

Numerical research so numbers that you can change into a graph

Useful during the early stages of a study when the researcher may be unsure of exactly what will be studied or what to focus on.

Research is heavily involved in the process, which gives the researcher a subjective view of the study and its participants.

What research methods (e.g. primary, secondary, qualitative, quantitative) did you use when completing the assignments in year 10 for Unit 5 (Crime Drama and Music Videos) and Unit 7 (Festival Bags) ?For the unit 5 coursework I used primary research because I knew what I was doing the only time I used secondary research was when I was getting images for my festival bag but other from that I used primary.

How did you collate, store and use the information when researching for your year 10 units? (e.g. did you book mark key websites? Keep a list of websites used? Print off or save any info for your folders?)

I did store all of my work in my media file but if I was to do these projects again I would save and store the websites I used in my favourites

What research techniques (e.g. using the library, the internet, watching videos, reading info, recces, practises, plans etc) did you use when completing the assignments in year 10 for Unit 5 (Crime Drama and Music Videos) and Unit 7 (Festival Bags) ?I used the internet and YouTube and watch videos of crime drama’s to get a clearer image of what I was supposed to be doing. On the music video unit I also used the internet to look up idea for music videos. Also for the festival bag I used the internet to research about the festival.

If you didn’t use some of the methods in year 10, would use you them if you were to do your projects again? How and why would you do this?I would defiantly use these methods because they are really helpful for an example with secondary research if you were ever stuck you could just go on the internet to get a more clearer idea of the thing you are supposed to be doing
