CONFIRMATORYDESCRIPTIVE

The new social view of doing research is hybrid research (mixing the classical traditions of research). This new social view follows the

classroom-oriented research (the researcher accounts not only for the "inside" classroom but also for the "outside" classroom - what surrounds the classroom such as culture, community, approaches,

policies, etc.)

QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL The research intention is to

determine whether a program or intervention has the

intended effect on a study’s participants. While a true

experiment includes (1) pre-post test design, (2) a

treatment group and a control group, and (3) random

assignment of study participants, quasi-

experimental studies lack one or more of these design

elements.

EXPERIMENTAL The research intention is to

involve at least a treatment, an outcome measure, units of

assignment, and some comparison from which

change can be inferred and hopefully attributed
