History of FaisalabadFaisalabadwasoncepartofancientdistrictJhangandSandalbar,mainlyconsistingofthick forests andwild tribes. The city ofLyallpurcameintobeingin1880withthecity center designed by Captain PohamYoung, to imitate the Union Flag witheight roads radiating from a large clocktower(GhentaGhar)inthecentreofeightseparatebazaars.In 1895, the rail linkbetweenWazirabadand Lyallpur was completed. As theprogress of colonization stepped up,Lyallpurwas given the status of a Tehsilof Jhang District and its administrationcarried on in tents on the old Theh(Mound) of Pucca Mari near Tariqabad.In 1943, Muhammad Ali Jinnah came toLyallpur and addressed a gathering ofover2millioninDhobiGhatground.Thecitygrewintoastrongindustrialandagricultural center andon independenceofPakistan itwas amajorurbanarea. In1977, thenameof the citywas changed

to “Faisalabad”, after the lateKing Faisalof Saudi Arabia to commemorate deepfriendship which exists between thetwogreat Islamiccountriesoftheworld.In 1985, Faisalabad was upgraded as adivision with the districts of Faisalabad,JhangandTobaTekSingh.Geography: Faisalabad is located in the northeastof Punjab. The city covers an area ofapproximately 830 square kilometers,comprisinglargelyofflatorrollingplains.Ithasapopulationofaround5million.ItisalsothethirdlargestcityofPakistan.Climate:The climate of Faisalabad district is ofextremenature,reaching50°Cinsummersand-1°Cinwinters.Thesoilofthedistrictisveryfertile.Theaveragerainfallisabout200mm.Twin City: Faisalabad is twinned with Manchester,UnitedKingdom.

By Car:Faisalabad is linked via the M-3 Motorway whichbranchesoffatFaisalabad-PindiBhattianInterchangelocated on the Lahore-Islamabad motorway. Thereis also adual carriageway fromLahore to Faisalabadvia Sheikhupura. Saleem Campus of the Universityis located 2km off the toll plaza on Sargodha Roadwhile travelling towards the city. Amin Campus issituatedontheWestbankofCanalandisabout5kmfromAbdullahpurcrossingor3kmfromGatwalaPark

locatedontheSheikhupuraRoad.By Air: Faisalabad International Airport is about 10km fromthe city center. The University of Faisalabad was established in the year2002undertheauspicesofMadinahFoundation,anot-for-profit philanthropic organization, in the light of the vision“Industry,Service,Education”of itsfounderChairman,HajiMuhammadSaleem(Late).The founder created this facility for providing qualityeducation in professional areas to meet the educationalneedsofthepeopleinandaroundFaisalabad.TheUniversityhastwoCampusesi.e.SaleemCampusforfemalestudents,andAminCampusformalestudents.Saleem Campus is located on Sargodha Road, FaisalabadnearmotorwayexittollplazawhileAminCampusislocatedonWestCanalRoad,FaisalabadinthevicinityofFaisalabadChamber of Commerce & Industry and National TextileUniversity.In March 2012, Higher Education Commission ranked Universities for the first time on the basis of Implementation of Quality Assurance Criteria, Teaching Quality and Research the University got Second Position in its category. The University of Faisalabad secured FIRST Position in HEC ranking in its category of “General Universities (Small)” in 2013. HEC categorized TUF in the highest category W4 in March 2013.

Entry RequirementsTheUniversityofFaisalabadencouragesallcandidatesto apply for admissions in various degree programsofferedbytheUniversity.

AdmissiontotheUniversityis,however,subjecttothefollowingconditions:• Meetingeligibilitycriteria• Payment of all dues including admission, tuition

andotherfees• Submission of a medical fitness certificate from

MadinahTeachingHospital(MTH)

TheUniversity admits academically sound individualsonthebasisofmeritdeterminedbythepre-universityacademicrecord.Toqualifyforadmissions,applicantsmustmeet thegeneralentrance requirementof theUniversity.Theeligibilityconditionsforeachcourseofstudyarestatedintherelevantdegreeprogram.

Applying to TUFCandidates will be asked to submit the followingdocuments to Admission Office along with theadmissionapplicationform:

a. Threeattestedphotocopiesofthedocuments:• Certificates/DetailedmarksheetsofSecondary

SchoolExaminationorequivalentcertificate• Certificate/DetailedmarksheetofIntermediate

Master/MPhilprogramb. UET entry test result for current year in case of

andbearingthenameoftheapplicante. ApplicantssubmittingA/Olevelcertificateswillalso

submit original equivalence certificates obtainedfrom Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC)

atthetimeofadmission.Iftheirresultisawaitedat that time, theywill be required to submit theequivalence certificate within four weeks of thecommencement of the semester, failing whichtheiradmissionwillbecancelled.

f. Attested photocopy of DAE certificate issued bytheBoardofTechnicalEducation(ifapplicable)

g. Theoverseascandidateshallhavetosubmitacopyof passport of his/her father and copy of workpermitalongwiththeapplicationform.

h. Verification fee as prescribed for candidates ofBachelorandMasterDegreeprogramsatthetimeofadmission.

i. An undertaking on a stamp paper of Rs 20/- toabidebyrules,regulationsandguidelinesframedbytheUniversityfromtimetotime.

j. Submission of a complete application form andsupportingdocuments.

Application FormsProspectus and application forms are available fromAdmissionOfficeduringofficehours(8:00amto4:00pm) at the price of Rs 1000/- or can be available bypostagainstapayorder/demanddraftofRs1050/-infavourofTheUniversityofFaisalabad.

Applicants may apply for more than one programs/disciplinesapplicableintheircaseonsingleApplicationForm.

Processing Fee Rs1000/-willbechargedasprocessingfee(nonrefundable)atthetimeofsubmissionofapplicationform.

Guidelines for Admission• The applicants are advised to go through the

contents of the prospectus and familiarizethemselveswiththerulesgoverningentrancetestand interview for admission in The University ofFaisalabad. They should also check the eligibility

criteriaforaparticularprogram.• The University reserves the right to refuse

admission to any individual without assigningany reason. A candidate shall not be entitled toclaimadmissionasamatterofrightevenifs/heisotherwiseeligible.

• Applicantsshouldbeawarethatthepresentationof incorrect/false/forged/fraudulent informationor document is a criminal offence and theUniversityreservestherighttoinitiatelegalactionandcancelhis/heradmissionatanystage.

• It is the sole responsibilty of the applicant toprovidecompletecorrectand timely informationtotheadmissionoffice.

• Applications without complete and correctdocumentswillnotbeconsideredforadmission.

• TheUniversitytakesnoresponsibilityforanypostaldelayinthedeliveryofinterview/intimationletteroranyothercommunicationrelatingtoadmission.

Confirmation of Admission Selected candidates are required to confirm theiracceptance by paying the admission and tuitionfees within the specified dates. Admission processwillbecompletedafter thepaymentofallduesandsubmission of enrollment forms. If a candidate failstosubmittheenrollmentform,his/heradmissionwillstand cancelled and the seat will be offered to thenextcandidateonmeritlist.Initially,alladmissionsintheUniversityareprovisionalsubjecttoverificationoftheircertificates/degrees.

Cancellation of Admission/Re-AdmissionIfastudentmakeshim/herselfabsentfromtheclassfortenconsecutivedayswithoutapprovalfromHeadof School, his/her name shall be struck off from therollsoftheSchool.Suchstudentmaybere-admittedwith the approval of the concerned Head of theSchool.Thestudentshallhavetopay theprescribedre-admissionfeeunderintimationtotheRegistrar.Ifastudentfailstoattendanylectureduringthefirst

fourweeksafterthecommencementofthesemesteras per announced schedule, his/her admission shallstandcancelledautomaticallywithoutanynotification.

Tuition Fee and Other ChargesThedetailsabouttuitionfee,admissionfeeandothercharges are available on a separate sheet providedwiththeapplicationpackage.

Thetuitionfeeandotherdueswillincreaseannuallytocovertheinflationarytrendinthecountry.Amoderateincreaseof3%intuitionfeewillbechargedannually,althoughtheinflationrateisupto10%.

Program Structure: The curriculum of BS Nursing of 135 credit hoursdegreeprogramconsistsof8semesters(4years).Thecourse curriculum and examinations of BS NursingdegreeprogramwillbegovernedaspertherulesandregulationsofPakistanNursingCouncil(PNC)andHECadopted by the University. Program Description:Textile istheleadingIndustryofPakistanintermsofforeignexchangeearnings,anddirectaswellasindirectemployment. Programs Offered

The School of Management Studies is one of the oldest centre offering business education programs in Faisalabad. Our graduates are well placed in public and private organizations. The University authorities provide every facility for running business management programs quite effectively. With increasing momentum of the facilities, the business students have access to electronically accessible journals and books to appease their intellectual thirst. Fully equipped Computer Labs having internet connectivity are available for students along with the facility of printers and scanners.Social events are regularly conducted in and outside the Campus for developing creative abilities among the students. A job placement cell works for providing recruitment services that provide a link between students and the industry. A career development cell is working to guide the students for their future careers. The University publishes graduate directory and ensures their distribution to the prospective employers as well as to the graduates to continue to have social contracts with each other. Participation of our students in community services arranged by the University is a routine affair. The students have played a key role in Mass Marriages programs conducted once or twice a year, Blood donation society actively helps the needy patients in Madinah Teaching Hospital or else where and assist the needy staff and students of University. Character building and personal growth of students through lectures, seminars and social events are our pride. Industrial tours are quite common during the program of studies. The students meet executives from business and industry and learn a lot from their experience. Program Description: The University of Faisalabad is offering this program which is designed in accordance with international standards of education. Distance Learning EducationThe University is committed to provide all types of assistance to the candidates taking admissions under the distance learning program including support of administration, staff and all the infrastructure required for conducting various programs. The courses and syllabi of various degree programs will be the same as approved by NCRC, HEC, to achieve the desired outcomes. Moreover, relevant text books/ e-books and other teaching material will be made available for use by students at the start of semester. The students will have access to academic support, library Services, course registration and all other services.

Degree ProgramsThe degree programs under Distance Learning have been designed after getting approval from HEC. The objective is to enable large number of candidates who reside in remote areas or are in regular service, to enhance their educational qualifications without much disturbance to them through an outreach program of education.

The University of Faisalabad is starting DLE programs in the following disciplines:• MA Islamic Sciences with duration of 2-3 years (4-6 semesters) • MA Economics with duration of 2 years (4 semesters) after BA/BSc• MA English Literature with duration of 2 years (4 semesters) after BA/BSc

It should be noted that the duration of the above program as well as degree requirements for course work will be same as for regular programs. Admissions will be made once a year.

Methods of InstructionsThe outline of courses alongwith reading materials e.g. e-books, e-lectures, assignments will be provided to the students online. The students will spend most of their time studying at home station by following instructions from their teachers or using e-lectures and other material sent to them. However, they will have face to face contact with subject teacher, once a week as time table issued by the respective Head of School. The Faculty member/Teacher will give at-least 2 assignments in each course, taught by him/her.

Attendance Requirement The attendance of students will be considered keeping in view the submission of assignments, discussions with teachers, other contacts and attendance in weekly lectures/workshops.

ExaminationsFinal Examinations will be conducted on the Campus as per notified program. There will be no mid test. If a candidate misses a paper in Final Examinations for any reason, he/she will be considered “Fail” in that paper. The distribution of marks for each course will be as under:Sessional Work (assignments, quizzes, class participation, presentations) 30%Final Examination 70%Total 100%To qualify an examination, the students must obtain at-least 30% marks in each part and 50% in overall evaluation.

Fee DepositThe students can deposit enrollment or other fee alongwith Admission/Enrollment Forms in the branch of Habib Metropolitan Bank in the University. This will save not only their travelling time & cost but also the risk that the documents or cash get miss on the way to the University.

Grading System The grading system for distance learning students will be same as for regular students. Percentage marks in each course are converted into grade points/grades. The grade point average (GPA) is calculated for each semester. Cummulative grade point average (CGPA) is calculated for evaluation in second, third and fourth semesters. A minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4 is required for successful completion of Master’s degree.

Support Services for Distance LearningStudents will be provided program material, which would be easily understandable and to the point. The students will be informed in advance about program completion requirements, nature of learning experience, faculty responsibilities and quality of faculty. • Library staff will provide material from the library and also assist the students in borrowing books. • Admission and registration offices will be readily accessible to Distance Learning Students through University Website.

Students can register by visiting the Registrar and Accounts offices personally or online. Access to course schedule and grades, as well as details about tuition fee and other payments will be available online.

• Admission requirement, coverage of courses, examinations and evaluation standards will be same for Distance Learning students as are for regular students of the University.

• Instructor and course coordinator will be responsible for delivering instructional materials, online lectures, etc and evaluation.

Rules and Regulations

1. Academic Calendara. There are two semesters in an academic year

namely; Fall and Spring. Fall Semester normallystarts in September and Spring Semester startsinFebruary.Durationofsemester is16-18weeksinclusiveofexaminations.

b. InadditiontoFallandSpringSemesters,thereisaSummerSessionwiththedurationofeightweeks.Enrolment of 1-2 courses is offered in summersession. The contact hours during each week ofthe Summer Session are doubled to ensure thatthecourseiscompletelycovered.

2. AdmissionsAdmissiontoanydegreeprogramshallbemadeonthebasisofmerit listpreparedbytheAdmissionOffice under the supervision of respective DeanofFaculty/HeadofSchoolonaprescribedformat.ListsofselectedcandidatesarebedisplayedbytheAdmissionOffice and if needed subsequent listswouldbedisplayedtillthelastseatisfilledup.TheUniversity may refuse admission to a candidatewithoutassigninganyreason.

3. Course Credit HoursEach course is assigned credit hours. The credithours are denoted by two digitswithin bracketswithahypheninbetween.Thefirstdigitrepresentsthetheorypartwhilethesecond(rightside)digitrepresentsthepractical.Thus3(3–0)meansthreecredit hours of theory only, while 4(3–1) meansa total of four credit hours of which three arereserved for theory and one credit hour is forpracticalwork.

a. Theory:Onecredithouroftheorymeansonehourteachingperweekthroughoutthesemester.

b. PracticalLab:Onecredithourofpracticalmeansthreehoursoflabworkperweekthroughoutthesemester.

4. Enrollment in Each Semester Within Specified Time

At the start of first and subsequent semestersthe candidates are required to enroll courseswithin specified dates. An application forenrollment of next semester on the prescribedformaccompaniedbyfeedepositreceiptshallbe

presented,15daysbeforethecommencementofexaminations of the current semester. In specialcircumstancesastudentmayenrollonedaybeforethecommencementofclassesbydepositing latefee.EnrolmentwillbeconsideredascompletediftheEnrolmentForm issubmittedontimealongwithfeedepositreceipt.Merelydepositingthefeewillnotservethepurpose.Ifastudentfailstoenrollinanysemesterwithoutpermissionoftheauthority,s/heshallceasetobeontherollsoftheUniversity.

5. Attendance RequirementsHead of the School monitors the attendancerecords of all students and issues instructions/warnings to the defaulters to improve theirattendance. Lecture shortage reports of suchstudentsarealsosenttotheirparentsonmonthlybasis.

a. Atleast75%attendanceinclassesismandatorytoappearinsemesterexaminations.

b. A student having less than 75% attendance inlectures and practicals (if applicable) separatelyinacourseshallnotbeallowedto take thefinalsemesterexaminationofthatcourse.

c. For a student participating and representing theUniversity in sports/co-curricular activities ofnational or international level events, the daysspentby thestudent in sucheventsarecountedaspresenttowardstheattendancerequirement.

6. Deferment of Studies (Freezing)a. A student must enroll himself/herself for each

semester till the degree program is completed.However, a student may discontinue his/herstudiesbyseekingfreezingofsemesterduringthesemester on medical grounds or circumstancesbeyond his/her control with written permissionofHead of School, subject to the condition thatsemester fee shall not be transferred/refunded.If a candidate did not freeze the semester andremainedabsentfromclassesandinexaminations,he/she will be treated as fail in the enrolledsubjectsofthatsemester.

b. A student may discontinue his/her studies byseeking semester freeze prior to enrollment inthe second/subsequent semester on medical

groundsorcircumstancesbeyondhis/hercontrolwithwrittenpermissionoftheHeadoftheSchoolconcernedsubjecttofulfillmentofconditionthatthe student has passed the final examination ofthe previous semesterwithminimumprescribedGPA/CGPArequiredforacademicstandardoftheUniversitytoremainonroll.Thestudentshallnothavetopaythesemesterfee.Ifthefeeisdepositedearlier,itwillbetransferredtothenextsemester.

c. If a student freezes a semester, s/he will enrollin the same semester next year. The maximumdurationofthedegreeprogramshall remainthesame.

d. A student who sought discontinuation of asemestershallhavetogetapprovalfromtheHeadof the School to rejoin the program before thecommencementofthesemestertoberejoined.

e. TheHeadoftheSchoolwillnotifyinbothcases;thesemester freezing of and rejoining the programunder intimation to the Registrar and AccountsOffice.

f. During the semester freeze, bonafide status ofthe student shall remain suspended. Moreover,discontinuation shall not be allowed for morethantwoyearsforcompletionofdegreewiththeprescribedduration.Thecandidatewillhavetopay10%of tuition fee per semester for the freezedsemesters.

7. Cancellation of AdmissionTheadmissionofastudentwillbecancelledduetofollowingreasons:i. Ifastudentfailstoenrolltimelyorii. Ifastudentmakeshimself/herselfabsentfrom

theclassfortenconsecutivedaysoriii. Ifastudentfailstoattendany lectureduring

thefirstfourweeksafterthecommencementof the semester as per announced schedule.S/hewillbeeligibleforreadmissionnextyearinthesamesemester.

8. Tests, Examinations and Evaluation The teacher will be responsible for student’sevaluation and grading as per the followingweight-age:

• MidSemesterExamination30%• FinalSemesterExamination50%• Sessional20%a. Sessionalmarkscompriseofquiz(es),assignment(s),

presentation(s)andclassparticipation.b. MidSemesterExaminationwillbeconductedafter

eightweeksofteachingduringasemester.c. Final Semester Examination covering the full

syllabus with at least 20% of the course of midexaminationshallbeheldattheendofsemester.Note:InAnatomycoursethedistributionofmarkswillbe25%forstages,25%forsubstagesand50%forfinalexamination.

d. The schedule of each examination is notified/displayedontheNoticeBoardwellintime.

e. There is no choice of questions inmid semesterandfinalsemesterexaminations.

f. The duration of mid and final semesterexaminationsshallbe1to2hoursand2to3hoursrespectively.

g. Examinations are held on consecutive days andcompletedwithinaweek.

h. Thepassmarksineachcourseare50%.i. Pass Criterion in a Course having Practical Part:

Thecandidateswhofail intheoryorpracticalwillbetreatedasFailinthatsubject.Suchcandidatesmust enroll the failed subject (both theory andpractical) as and when the course is offered. Acandidatemustobtainatleast50%marksintheoryaswellaspracticalpartsseparatelytoqualifythatcourse. In Pharm-D degree program the Theoryand Practical courses are independent and haveseparatecoursecodes,thereforetheyaretreatedseparately.

j. There will be no supplementary/specialexaminationinasemestersystem.Ifastudentfailsinacourse,s/heisrequiredtorepeatit.

k. Sessional marks awarded on the basis ofassignments, tests, quizes, class practical’s,presentations etc are shown to the studentsbeforethefinalexamination.

l. Teacher shall submit the award list within sevendaysoftherespectiveexaminationtotheofficeofControllerofExaminations.

9. Transparency in Marking of ScriptsThe scripts of each examination are shown tothestudentsby the teacher to reviewthemarksawardedbeforesendingtheresultstoControllerofExaminations.

10. Repeating Coursesa. Wheneverastudentfailshe/shehastorepeatthe

course,wheneveroffered.b. An Undergraduate student may be allowed to

repeat ‘D’ or ‘F’ grade upto six (6) courses. Agraduatelevelstudentmayrepeat‘C’gradeorless

than‘C’uptothree(3)courses.c. In case a student repeats the course which

has already been taken, the old grade will besubstituted with the new grade (for GPA/CGPAcalculation), but in case a student takes a newcourse in lieu of the course inwhich s/he failed,boththegradeswill reflectonhis/hertranscript,i.e,oldcoursegradeandnewcoursegrade.

11. Award of ScholarshipsTheamountofmeritscholarshipsforvariousdegreeprogramsineachsemesterareofferedtomeritoriousstudentsasunder:Percentage Marks Amount of Scholarship (Rs)85.00-87.49 10,000/-87.50-89.99 15,000/-90andmore 20,000/-Thenumberofscholarshipsawardedwillbeupto10%oftheclasssizeprovidedtheymeetaboveconditions.If class size is upto 15, only one scholarship will beawarded.

12. CGPA Required for Degree CompletionTheminimumqualifyingCGPAforBachelorandMaster/MS/MPhildegreesare2.00and2.50respectively.

13. Minimum CGPA at the End of the Last SemesterAstudent,whoobtainsCGPAoflessthan2.00and2.50in Bachelor andMaster/MPhil/PhD degree programsrespectively at theendof the last semester,maybeallowedtorepeatoneortwocoursesinwhichhe/shehasobtained the lowestgrades, inorder to improvethe CGPA so as to obtain theminimum of 2.00 and2.50,inthecourseworkfailingwhichhe/sheshallbedroppedfromthedegreeprogramaswellasfromtheSchool.

14. Award of Degreea. Degree shall be awarded to the candidate who

hascompletedall thedegreerequirementsafterpassingallcoursesspecifiedinschemeofstudiesby securing at least 2.00 CGPA for Bachelor and2.50forMaster/MS/PhDCandidates.

b. ForMS/PhD,thestudentsinadditiontocompletingthe courseworkwith atleast 2.5 CGPAwill haveto present an acceptable thesis on the basis ofapprovedprogramofresearch.

c. A PhD candidate shall have to qualify thecomprehensive examination, successful publicthesis defense, research publication in HECrecognizedjournalinadditiontotheevaluationof

thesisbytwoexternalexaminersfromindustriallyadvancedcountries.

15. Migration/Transfer of CreditsUnder extra-ordinary circumstances, the Rector,on the recommendations of the Dean/Head of theconcerned School, may allow migration/transfer ofcredits to students fromHEC recognized institutionstotheUniversityprovidedthat:The eligible candidate must satisfy the followingconditions:a. He/Shemustfulfilltherequiredentryqualification

oftheprogram.b. Astudent,whohasbeendroppedout,rusticated,

expelled, or whose entry in the parent institutewas banned for any reason whatsoever at anytimeduringhis/heracademiccareer,thecasefortransferofcreditsshallnotbeconsidered.

c. Courses with credit hours and course contentsequivalent to the degree program, shall beconsideredfortransferofcredits.

d. Exempted courses along with their credit hoursshallbedisplayedonthefinal/officialtranscriptbutthe grades obtained from the parent institutionwillnotbedisplayed.Suchsubjectswillbemarkedas“TransferredCredits”(TR).

e. The transferred student(s) must study at least50%coursesof theProgram in theUniversity tobecomeeligibleforthedegree.

f. He/she has to provide NOC from the institutionfromwheremigrationisrequired.

16. Unfair Means Casesa. ExaminationUnfairMeansCasesshallbereported

totheControllerofExaminationswhomayreferthecasetotheUniversityDisciplineCommitteefornecessaryactionundertherules.

b. TherecommendationsbytheCommitteeagainstthe student(s) for using unfair means duringexaminationmaybetaken inoneormoreofthefollowing forms depending upon the severity oftheoffence:

• Awrittenwarningmaybeissuedtothestudentconcerned and a copy of the same may bedisplayedontheNoticeBoardunderintimationtohis/herparentsorguardians.

• Astudentmaybefined.Thefineimposedshallhave to be deposited under intimation to theManagerFinance

• Thepapermaybecancelled.• AstudentmaybeplacedonProbationforafixed

17. Library RulesLibrary users are expected to observe the followinglibraryrules:a. Leave their personal belongings at the reserved

librarypremises.d. Gossiping, cell phone calls, sleeping, drinking,

eating,smokingandchattingisstrictlyprohibited.e. Submitlibrarymaterial(s)forinspection,ifasked.f. Underlining, marking, folding and tearing the

pagesofbooksareprohibited.g. Leave the library materials on table after

consulting/readingthem.h. Library membership could be suspended or

canceled along with a penalty in the followingcases:• Nonpaymentoflibraryfine• Theftoflibrarymaterial• Non returning of the temporary issued

materialswithinduetime• Anykindofdisturbanceinlibrary• Misconductwiththelibrarystaff• Breaching of established library rules and

18. Hostel Rulesa. Allotment for accommodation in the hostel is

considered only after the Allotment Committeehasscrutinizedtheapplicationandsatisfieditselfof the merit and eligibility of the student andthathis/her stay in thehostel shall innowaybeprejudicial to the interest of other residents inhostelandtheinstitution.

b. The hostel accommodation will be given tostudentsdomiciledinplacesotherthanFaisalabadonly.

c. Students are not allowed to reside in privatehostelsinFaisalabad.

The applications of female students for allotment

of accommodation in the hostel are undertakenfrom parents/guardians on the prescribed form,photographs of authorized visitors and copies ofNational Identity Cards have to be attached withapplication form. In case of foreign students, therecommendation andundertakingon theprescribedproforma for the admission, guarantee for paymentofhostelduesandofgoodbehaviorwillbeobtainedfromrespectiveembassiesorconsulates.

19. Use of Electrical Appliances Thestudentsareallowedtousetheirpersonalelectricalappliances i.e.microwaveovenand refrigeratorwiththepermissionofthehostelwarden.Studentshavetopayadditionalcostasdecidedbythemanagement.LeavefromHostel/MeetingGuests:Leaveapplicationmustbesubmittedtothehostelwarden.Girlscannotgo outside the hostel/campus for shopping, visitingtheir relativesor for recreation, if theirparentshavenot allowed them. In case theyareallowed theyarerequiredtosubmitleaveproformadulysignedbythehostelwarden.Students,goinghome,shouldleavethehostelbeforesunset.Studentsarerequiredtobebackin thehostelbeforesunset.Girlswillnotbeallowedto receive any visitor except those nominated bytheirparents /guardians. Studentsmust inform theirintendingguestsaboutthevisitinghoursinthehostel.Followingvisitinghoursshallbestrictlyobserved:

20. Punctuality in classesStudents are required to be seated in the specifiedclassroomfiveminutesbeforethestartoftheclass.Studentsareexpectedtobequietandwellbehaved.

21. Dress Codea. Male students are required to wear shirts and

trousers.Shirtsmustalwaysbetucked insidethetrousers.

b. T-shirts, jeans, jackets and joggers are notpermittedinthecampus.

c. Male students will be properly shaven withtrimmed moustaches. Similarly students withbeardswillregularlytrimthem.

d. Chappalswithoutstraparenotallowed.e. Female students are required to wear white

Shalwar Kameez with full sleeves and dopatta/scarfoftheprescribedcolour.

22. Identity CardsStudents are required to display their UniversityIdentityCardswhileincampus.

23. Disciplinary Requirementsa. All faculty members and other staff members

authorized for the purpose, shall have authority,and it shall be their duty, to check disorderly orimproper conduct or any breach of regulationby students of the University in the Universitypremises.

b. Anymemberoftheacademicstaffmay,ifhe/shedeems itnecessary, report thecaseofa studentwhoisguiltyofdisorderlyorimproperconductinalectureroom,libraryorlaboratorytothenoticeoftheHeadoftheSchoolconcernedandDisciplinaryCommittee

c. Fines or other penaltiesmay be imposed by theDisciplinaryCommittee,orbyanyotherauthorizedperson of the University for any breach ofRegulations,orforanyactofbehaviordetrimentaltothegoodorderoftheUniversity

d. AstudentoftheUniversitymayberequiredtobearthecostofmakinggoodanydamagetoUniversityproperty for which he/she may be responsible,whichmaybeinadditiontoafineorotherpenaltywhich he/she may have incurred in connectiontherewith

24. Disciplinary Suspension or DismissalThe University reserves the right to suspend ordismissastudentforviolationofpolicies,regulationsand discipline code or of conduct inimical to the

best interest or for attempting to use unfairmeansduringclasses,quizzesorexaminations.Managementdecisioninallmattersshallbefinal.

25. Forbidden Acts Thefollowingactsarestrictlyforbiddenandwillleadto serious disciplinary action including rustication/expulsionfromtheUniversity:a. Useofunauthorizeddrugsandsolventsb. Possessionsofexplosive,firearmsandinflammable

liquidsetc.c. Betting,lendingorgamblingd. Possessionoruseoffirearms,weaponsetce. Unauthorized possession of any key of the

Universityf. VisitingAdministrationblockingroups

26. Students’ Interaction with Facultya. Students are not expected to socialize with

facultyandadministrationstaffmorethanwhatisnecessaryforacademicpursuit.

b. Studentsareforbiddentovisitthefacultyintheirhousesorinthefacultymesseitherindividuallyoringroups.

c. Students’ interactionwith faculty should pertaintostudiesoranydifficultiesfacedinstudies.Thisinteractionshouldbeduringtheuniversitytimings.
