Milk and milk products have demonstrated various physiological and
functional roles in human body. Pakistan is among the top five milk
producing countries in the world with about 50 MT/annum
production alongside ranked 2nd in global buffalo milk production.
Nevertheless, dairy industry is facing serious crisis at processing &
production that influence milk yield, quality and value addition. There
is a dire need to address these challenges, identifying root causes and
working on sustainable solutions to boost this field.

In continuation to previously held Cheese Festival in February, 2011
as a collaborative initiative between NIFSAT-UAF and Embassy of
France to Pakistan, Cheese & Exotic Food Festival is also planned on
the sideline of the conference. In this context, the Ambassador of
France to Pakistan is expected to inaugurate this festival on 26th
November, 2015. Cheese is a group of fermented milk-based product,
available in a wide range of flavors and forms throughout the world. It
is rightly said that there is a cheese for every taste preference and a
taste preference for every cheese. Cheese has traditionally been a part
of Pakistani cuisine; in particular unprocessed cheese (paneer) is the
main type of cheese being used by village population. Over the period,
due to growing influence of western food habits, there is an increasing
demand for several varieties of cheese, such as cheddar, mozzarella
and processed cheese slices in Pakistan. Moreover, a variety of native
and foreign exotic foods are also gaining immense popularity owing to
their luxurious profile. Keeping in view, the growing importance of
cheeses and exotic foods in the country, the present event is organized
under the kind patronage of the Embassy of France along with French
experts providing an opportunity to get awareness about various
varieties of French cheese as well as exotic foods from the world.
Furthermore, it will also encourage local processors and provide
platform to exchange their personal experiences with International
experts. The participants will also have the opportunity to taste a
variety of French and local cheese as well as exotic foods.
