Prince Pippin wants to marry a princess. “Let’s have a princess party” (says the queen)“And find the perfect princess for Prince Pippin (says theKing)

Two princesses come over the mountain.Two princesses come over the river.One princess even comes over the sea.They all want to marry Prince Pippin!

The King, the queen, Prince Pippin and Felicityfairy look at all the princesses. “But…which is theperfect princess?” asks the queen. Felicity fairy

has an idea.

Felicity fairy is busy! She puts 1,2,3,4,5,6 mattresses on thebeds. Under the very bottom mattress she puts a tiny Little

pea.“What are you doing?” (asks the King)

“Shh!” (says Felicity fairy) “Only a perfect princess can feel thetiny Little pea!”

The King and the queen and Prince Pippin have a princess party. “Wedon’t like pears!” (say the grumpy princesses). “I’m so sleepy!” (says

the sleepy princess). “I’m so beautiful!(says the vain princess). “Yummy yummy. I like everything!”(says the greedy princess).

“Oh dear” (says the king)

The princesses go to bed. “Good night princesses. Sleep well” (saysthe queen). “Give it to me! It’s mine!” (says the grumpy princesses).

“Zzzzzzz” (says the sleepy princess). “ I am so beautiful” (says the vainprincess). “Yummy yummy!” (says the greedy princess)

In the morning the queen goes to see the princesses. “We don’t likegetting up!” (says the grumpy princesses).”I’m so sleepy” (says the

sleepy princess). “I’m so beautiful” (says the vain princess). “Yummyyummy!” (says the greedy princess).But no one of the princesses says

anything about the tiny Little pea!

“Goodbye princesses” (says the Prince Pippin)“Goodbye Prince Pippin!” (say the princesses)

“Look!” Here’s another princess.“Hello!”(she says) “I’m Princess Flower. Sorry I’m

late!”“Come in” (says Prince Pippin)

The King, the queen and the Prince Pippin have tea withPrincess Flower. “Would you like a sándwich?” (asks the

king).“Thank you very much” (says the Princess Flower)

Princess Flower goes to bed. “Good night” (says the queen) “Sleep well!”
