The human ear

- The ear is the organ that detects sound. It not only receives sound, but also aids in balance and body position. The ear is part of theauditory system.

Often the entire organ is considered the ear, though it may also beconsidered just the visible portion. In most mammals, the visible earis a flap of tissue that is also called the pinna (or auricle inhumans) and is the first of many steps in hearing. Vertebrates have apair of ears placed somewhat symmetrically on opposite sides of thehead. This arrangement aids in the ability to localize sound sources.

As the sense of hearing works

The sense of hearing is essential for human development and the individual in society , one of the main directions of our species.

Listening to the voice, the music and sounds of all kinds, helps us

relate to our neighbors and to develop word and speech.

This does not mean that it is vital to our existence and, of course , many people lack this sense for one reason or another .

Much of the understanding of the physical, biological and social

universe is obtained through the audition , and sounds continuously informed about the activities of the environment, even in areas beyond visual range or during sleep .

Operation of the Ear

The ear consists of three sections: - The outer ear ,

- Middle ear , and - The inner ear.

These parts work together , to hear and process sounds 24 hours a day . The first step of the hearing process is the capture of a sound, this is processed and traslated , but the interpretation of sounds, takes place in the brain and this process allows you to identify if the sound is the

sound of your a person , a barking dog, a musical instrument, etc. .

Melody

A melody is a sequence of sounds is perceived as a single entity. It unfolds in a linear sequence, ie over time, and has an own identity and meaning

within a particular soundscape. In its most literal sense, a melody is a combination

of height and pace, while more figuratively, the term has occasionally been extended to include successions of other musical elements such as

timbre. It can be considered that the melody is the foreground the background accompaniment. But a

melodic line or voice need not necessarily be a foreground melody.

Noise

Noise is generally unpleasant hearing sensation inarticulate . The environment is defined as all annoying to the ear. From this point of view , the most sublime music can be classified as noise by a person who at one time you do not want to hear it.

In the field of acoustic communication is defined as unwanted noise all interferes in communication between people or their activities sound.

When the term is used synonymously with acoustic noise pollution , it is referring to a noise (sound) with high intensity ( or a sum of intensities) , which may even be harmful to human health. Against excessive noise earplugs and earmuffs ( ear headphones , which contain electronics that reduces the outside noise , decreasing them or making their hearing more enjoyable ) are used to prevent hearing loss ( that , if left unchecked , can cause hearing loss).
