The difference between sound effects and score notes

Score music is the music that plays in the background of a film or during certain scenes in the film. The score music can be music that has been already made or it can be written specifically.

What is score music?

Sound effects are sounds that are used in films to enhance or create a sound. An example of a sound effect would be footsteps coming down a stairs. Sound effects can be added into films during editing.

What are sound effects?

Sound effects are different from score notes as score notes are pieces of music, where as sound effects are short sounds. However, both are added to films to emphasise different things at certain points in the film.
