WHY?

The purpose of the STaR Chart is to help teachers, campuses and districts determine their progress toward:

1. Goals in the Texas Long Range Plan

2. Goals of the district

3. Personal goals

WHO?

WHO?• Principals are responsible for

submissions to the Campus STaR Chart• Teachers fill in an online survey annually• School board and community groups

access the information• Technology planning committees use

the survey results as a needs assessment

WHERE?

WHEN?

• Briscoe Jr. High submits its data in the Fall.

• 100% of teachers completed it by November 11, 2010

Trends @ BJH

• BJH is showing improvements in the use of technology.

• Students have gained greater access to technology since 2008.

• Teachers are incorporating more lessons with a technology component in their classrooms.

• The school’s distance learning capacity- a key part of 21st century learning- has improved.

Conclusion

• On the last available STaR Chart survey, BJH had all Advanced Tech classifications in all areas.

• Briscoe Jr. High is on track to gain and maintain a Target Tech rating in the near future.
