Image and Identity of Ajmer-PushkarAjmer-Pushkar are the twin-city of religious importance. Millions of pilgrims come to Ajmer-Pushkar to visit the Dargah Sharif and the Brahma Mandir.

The Urs festival at Ajmer(april-may) and the Pushkar mela(oct-nov) are the two main events.

Main Issues Large floating population resulting in high demand of facilities and services.

Maintaining and managing the city needs for the changing population is challenging.

While people near Anasagar lake are facing problem from excess water.The people of Pushkar lake are worried about shortage of water.

Responsiveness and PreparednessGoverning bodies: Ajmer Municipal Corporation and

Urban Development Authority. Pushkar Municipality.

Ajmer is chosen as a model city under the ‘Smart City Development’.

Time-table

• Week 1- CEPT university:• Class room inputs , religious towns , Urban

institutions.• Week 2- Field work:• Ajmer & Pushkar, meeting with officials, site visit to

places of religious and tourist significance.• Discussion with stakeholders.• Week 3- CEPT university:• Preparation for exhibition.

Logistics

• Over night rail travel from Ahmedabad.• Number of residential options available. • Food available at reasonable rates.• Expenses( excluding the fee)-Rs.5000/- to
