Stress Definition “A state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life work etc.”
“Something that causes strong feelings of worry or anxiety”
Stress Signals
Stress signals are characterized into 4 groups:
1. Feeling2. Thoughts3. Behavioral4. Physical
Feeling- Anxiety (worry , concern)- Irritability (ill temper ,ill nature)- Fear- Moodiness- Embarrassment
2.Thoughts
- Self Criticism- Difficulty in concentrating or making decisions.- Forgetfulness or mental disorganization.- Preoccupation with the future - Fear of failure- Repetitive thoughts
Behavioral - Crying - Snapping at friends- Teeth grinding- Jaw clenching - Increased smoking- Nervous laughter
4.Physical- Muscle tightening- Cold hands- Headache- Back or neck problems- Sleep disturbance- Stomach distress- Cold and infection- Fatigue
