The camera fades in to reveal a close up of the face of a woman lying down. Her eyes are closed. We want her hair to be messy on the pillow in a nightdress
As soon as the camera stops panning out, her eyes suddenly open, leading immediately onto the next shot
The camera shot expands to reveal several people (family members) gathered around, looking upset. The camera ends with a shot on a young man amongst them before switching to the next shot.
We soon into the woman’s iris and using graphic match cut, dissolve into the next scene…
The woman’s iris is shown to have turned into a ball on the ground
we can then see a shadow approaching the ball
The shadow approaches and picks the ball up We then cut to see the shadow, the (father) throwing the ball to the son
Next we see the son throwing the ball towards a man who is presumably his father the camera will follow the ball until it reaches him and then it cuts
To this over the shoulder shot with the mother As the ball falls the final time the slow motion is We then see the husbands arm falling adjacent to
To this over the shoulder shot with the mother As the ball falls the final time the slow motion is We then see the husbands arm falling adjacent to
We cut to the present once more the old woman (who we now know is the same woman from the flashback) is in an armchair playing with a little girl (her granddaughter)
We go back in time to the father’s funeral, dissolving the image of the son crying, to the same image of the son crying with mourners in the background
The camera pans to show The son (now much older) watches over them from the doorway mouthing the lyrics and looking downcast
He breaks down around the corner away from the happy scene so as not to upset them. he knows she is unlikely to survive much longer
The mourners and the mother are mourning at the side crying for their loss. One of the mourner’s comforts her
Close up to mothers face we see an array of emotions pass through her face, then it’s just sadness again
