Come along if you dare Thursday, Oct 11 2007

WEDNESDAY 31, October will be no ordinary night in Preston Park ..for this is the night when everyone can take part in some ghoulish goings on with a spooktacular Halloween walk.

There's creepy walks and much much more to make you gasp and giggle and you can really get into the 'spirit' of things with a prize on offer for the best fancy dressed.

Bring lanterns and torches to save you from the ghosts, goblins and ghouls in the woods - who knows who or what you will bump into! Just be daring in the dark!

This will be a night to remember where you can buy hot beverages and Halloween fayre. It's not a late night, and you can join the spooky walk, which starts at 6pm and is ongoing until 8.45pm.

Entry is only available via one of our special Halloween Express buses. Four of which will run. Two will pick up from Stockton Town Centre by the Swallow Hotel at 6pm and will run approximately every 20 minutes and the other two from Yarm Town Hall in Yarm High Street. The last pick up will be from 8pm.

Councillor Mary Womphrey, Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Culture and Leisure, said:- "This promises to be a fantastic fun night for all the family where everyone can come along and have a great time. This is one night of the year when the imagination can run free and we look forward to seeing some wicked witches, ghoulish ghosts and fantastic phantoms."

Tickets, which must be booked in advance, cost £4 (and free for fives and under) are available from the Environment Centre, West Row, Stockton, Preston Hall Museum, Stirling House, Tedder Avenue, Thornaby or call Stockton Council's Events Team on (01642) 527345.
