A+ ACADEMYSTAFF DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL
FOR
2013-2014
VISION STATEMENT
My vision is for A+ Academy to firmly cement ourselves as one of the leading school districts in the state of Texas. In order to achieve such a milestone we need to be at the forefront of best practices which includes seamless integration of technology in every classroom. Students need to be central in their own learning with teachers taking the backseat as facilitators who guide students to learn rather than the outdated ineffective “force-fed” education model.
CURRENT STATUS OF TECHNOLOGY PD 2012-2013 • Staff development for technology on campus is nearly
non-existent.
• Outsource training to Region X sporadically.
• Outsourcing creates additional undue costs and results in less than 5% of the teachers receiving the training.
• One campus based Web 2.0 training this year, on Edmodo with less than 10% of teachers invited to attend.
6 GOALS FOR
TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
FOR 2013-2014
GOAL 1
100% of the teaching staff can use email and checks their email at least once a day.
GOAL 2
Technology is implemented into all secondary classrooms at least twice a week and all elementary classrooms daily.
GOAL 3
Web 2.0 is utilized by 70% or better of the teaching staff
GOAL 4
Istation is utilized effectively in all of the elementary classrooms including the suggested intervention lessons
GOAL 5
100% of the staff will be able to use their Smart Board as an instructional tool versus presentation system and be able to access Smart Exchange resources.
