GROUP MEMBERS:NORLIYANA BINTI A. RESHID D20131063857AMIRAH HAKIMAH BINTI ABDUL RAHMAN D20131063867

INTRODUCTION…• A Representation of an object, a

system, or an idea in some form other than that of the entity itself.

• Scale models, prototype plantsModelling

• operation of a model, which is a representation of that system

• Example: Stella Simulation

APPLICATIONDesigning and analyzing manufacturing systems

Evaluating a new military weapons system or tactics

Designing and operating transportation facilities such as freeways, airports, subways, or ports

Evaluating designs for service organizations such as hospitals, post offices, or fast-food restaurants

Determining ordering policies for an inventory system and Analyzing financial or economic systems

ADVANTAGE SIMULATION

Give Student More Feeling For Reality In Some

Abstract Fields Of Learning

Student Will Be Active Rather Than

Passive in Class.

Saving The Cost Of Providing The

Necessary Apparatus in doing

experiments

DISADVANTAGE SIMULATION

disadvantage

Higher software cost

Cost about RM 3 K

School department

unaffordable to buy

Teacher still use tradisional way

Additional training required

Need good training to

use this software

Need time to expert

WHAT IS STELLA?stand for System Thinking for

Education and Research

offers a practical ways to dynamically visualize and

communicate how complex the system and ideas really

work.

used to stimulate a system over the time, jump the gap between theory and the real

world.

teach the students to look for relationship and interaction

and also it create a clear and best communication system

input and outputs to demonstrate the outcomes

many topics that can we build using STELLA

EXAMPLE OF USING STELLA?EXPERIMENT: REVERSIBLE REACTION• REVERSIBLE REACTION Is a process reversible chemical change• In the simulation: it make we see clearly the effect that reversibility plays in the

overall dynamics of the reaction by using H2 + I2 2HI

Graph Results of reversible reaction

Simulation 1: combination rate constant at low and decomposition rate constant at high (except at high concentration of reactant and low product)

Simulation 3: the constant rate of combination and decomposition at low

Simulation 4: the constant rate of combination and decomposition at high

Simulation 2: the constant rate of combination at high and rate of decomposition at low

EXAMPLE OF USING STELLA:Type of graph results in reversible reaction

GRAPH 1:-The forward reaction has its maximum rate at the beginning of the reaction and the rate decreases as the reaction proceeds. The rate decreases as the reaction proceeds. when the two rates become equal, the system is at equilibrium.

GRAPH 2:-The reaction proceeds, the reactants (I2 CONCENTRATIONS) get consumed, and the products (HI CONCENTRATION) are created. At some point, the products degrade back to their reactant form at the same rate as they are being formed, reaching an equilibrium between formation and destruction.

GRAPH 3:-The equilibrium between a liquid and its vapor, the rate of vaporization is equal to the rate of condensation. In the equilibrium of a saturated solution with undissolved solute, the rate of dissolution is equal to the rate of precipitation. In the equilibrium of a weak acid with its ions, the rate of dissociation is equal to the rate of recombination.

CONCLUSION

One of powerful

learning experiment

Stella help student to understand

scientific knowledge by

testing the hypothesis

Is suitable to apply in schools

in Malaysia

Stella Software recommended is the best to use as well because it can improve

students motivation.
