Pyroelectric Response• Product Idea: Auto driver
Smart sensors A sensor is a device that detects and responds to some type of input from the
physical environment. The specific input could be light, heat, motion, moisture, pressure, or any one of a great number of other environmental phenomena
Sensors in our life:
- in the gate
- anti-theft sensor
- alarm sensor
- auto parking sensors
Activity 1: Evading Motion DetectionObjective: Appreciate the role of scientists in our life.1- switched on the mini alert motion detection2- we measured the distance from our hand to the sensor it was 9 feets3- we recorded the notes
Conclusion: there is thermal sensors and object sensors-only human movements of normal and high speeds can be detected
Object Motion detection
Normal / High Human speed Detected
Slow Human Speed Undetected
Fixed Object Undetected
Moving object Undetected
Device Input Processor Output

electronic pulse
Sound singing
Objective: 1-learning different types of sensors.2-Making microphone using PVDF sensor
We knows which sensor it is.
Activity 2: Taking a tour of some sensors
Activity 3:Making Microphone
The student should know the importance of Microphone in our life.
Appriciate the role of scientists in our life.Teaching as what is PVDF.

The flexible is better: scratch & blow & talk
Activity 4: Exploring the Piezo Effect :Inside storyObjective:-Using atoms and bonds to form monomers and then polymers.
Conclusion:Monomers can be formed by linking atoms with bond, then polymers can be formed by linking the resulted monomers.
Activity 5: Measuring Piezoelectric or Pyroelectric ResponseObjective: to measure output voltages by connecting labpro device to PVDF
Large Medium Small

Conclusion:The (Large ball with longest distance)vgives the highest voltage.
AUTO DRIVER
Final Project:Auto Driver
Introduction and Rationale:
A car that is driven on its own without the need of a driver. The smart car can detect obstacles around it in all directions and accordingly make the appropriate behavior. The car can break and change directions automatically and can also go straight away if the road is clear.
For even better control, The car is connected to the GPS to know the maps and location and the best route to the destination.
Final Project:Auto Driver
Aim of the work (objectives)
Save the human power that is wasted in driving the carsThe automatic cruise control gives better results than the
human cruise control
Auto driverHypothesis: Can computer driving be as efficient as human driving? Will the GPS be able to give the exact directions to the car
computer? Is it safe to have a car without driver running the street?
AUTO DRIVERMaterials
There is a lot of sensors in the car:
1) There is a sensor in front side from the car.2) There is a sensor in the back side of the car.3) There is a sensor right side of the car.4) There is a sensor lift side of the car.5) There is a sensor The upper side of the car.
• A system that measure the petrol before destination, that tells you the petrol is enough to take you to your destination, and if your trip was longer and the tank of the petrol could not take you, it tells you that it will take you to the nearest petrol station.
Auto driver Methods1)This sensor brake the car to It reduces
the speed to not get accident.2)If there is a car or a truck, it is moving
towards the right or left.3)Careful not to approach the car or
truck.4)Careful not to approach the car or
truck.5)it check the traffic light and the radar
and the street speed.
Auto driverResults: What are the uses and benefits of your product. Did it solve
the problems you designed it to solve? And to what extent? Photos and graphs are important to be included

Auto driver Recommendations:
We highly recommend you to take this project into serious consideration and apply it in real life. We believe that it will make a great benefit to the society.
Conclusions
We learned so much information about smart sensors that we didn’t know about before. We also learned different applications on smart sensors that exist around us in our daily life.
We were able to come up with a project of our own and make a full research on it.
AL-Bairaq gave us the chance to get to know science in an amusing way.
AcknowledgmentMany thanks to AL-Bairaq team from Center for Advanced Materials (CAM), Qatar University for supporting us during our journey with a AL-Bairaq.
Also, I would like to thank the sponsors UNESCO, Qatar National Commission, Ras Gas, Maersk and Shell.
