Delivering the Griffith Curriculum • 3rd Year Students complete education in semesters• Within each semester students work and learn in

functional areas of Rural Hospital meeting requirements

• Medical ward in Rural Hospital will:• conduct rounds and primary care clinics in aged

care facilities, • see cancer care patients managed at the hospital

• follow some patients on their diagnostic and management travels to major centres

• join the mental health teams in their rural towns • following some acutely ill psychiatric cases on

Rural placements are able to provide the experience necessary to complete the curriculum, but not in a way that readily fits into the artificial terms of rotations. Patients just don’t come into rural hospitals and practices having selected their condition to suit the term of the students therein.
