TRADITIONAL APPLE PIE

Transylvanian Recipe (Romania)

INGREDIENTS:

For the dough

300 grams of wheat flour ( BL55 ) 150 grams of powdered sugar 80 grams butter 1 egg (medium , "M " full size) 1 pinch of salt 10 grams baking powder 6 tablespoons milk 2.8%

FOR THE FILLING

600 grams of apple 200 grams of sugar cinnamon ( ground )

It is finished in 45 minutes [No heart-healthy recipe ! ] [ Includes egg whites ! ] [ Contains sugar ! ] [ Contains gluten ! ] [ Contains milk proteins ! ]

PreparationPut all the ingredients in a bowl.

With quick movements the dough is kneaded. If needed add a few more drops of milk.

We divide it 2 parts and let it to rest for half an hour, covered .

We provide two pieces of pan size.

Grate the apples and simmer over low heat . Add the sugar ( to change the quantity to taste ) and cinnamon.

Put one of the stretched pieces of the dough into the baking then add the grated apples and cover with another sheet stretched .

The top is brushed with a beaten egg.

With a fork make holes on the top that the steam can escape .

Bake on 180 C oven until it is golden brown .
