Risk assessment

Knockout

It is clear that attempting to make a sporting video can come with a lot of risks to those starred in the production. The following slides show what we did when recognising a risk, to minimize any injury happening to the actors, before we started filming.

Muscle strain:To minimize the risk of any muscle tear or strain to the main character who is boxing, he did a ‘warm up’ before and ‘cool down’ after each time he was training. This would loosen his muscles giving him less chance of straining them, rather than going straight into his training routine.

Hand/Wrist injury:When training with professional boxing pads, heavy bags and speed ball whilst using boxing gloves, it is very easy for the persons wrists and hands to be damaged internally and externally. This is why the actors hands were wrapped properly using correct boxing tape needed. This would support his wrists when using the boxing gloves and also protect his knuckles and fingers from being cut or broken.
