When starting out, Rihanna had a basic, mainstream style. After she got mentored by Jay-Z and began dating Chris Brown, she started getting more recognition. She began wearing “seductive” clothing, for example, her concert in NYC in 2008. Her style was never as crazy, or odd as Nicki Minaj’s phase. But Rihanna has always kept a basic low-key style, compared to other popular artist such as Lady Gaga.

One of Rihanna’s first major hit was ‘ Pon de replay’, which was top 5 in the charts o 12 countries. Her first number one on the Billboard 200 was her seventh studio album ‘Unapologetic’, and after that she had more number one in charts and got more gold and platinum certifications for her singles. Over the years, Rihanna had been in the chart numerous times and had different types of songs out. For example “Stay”, “The Monster” and “Pour It Up” had been in the charts in 2013, all three are completely different songs with different meanings.
