Hi Alicia! How’s it going?

All is well! How about you?

Everything is going well, thank you! I am just returning from a parenting seminar hosted by a local community centre.

That’s right! Love for family really is a cross-cultural value.

A parenting seminar? What a great idea. We are all concerned about the welfare of our children and families.

But you know, as much as we all love our children, parenting can still be a little overwhelming at times, right?

Oh, for sure. That’s why I signed up for the seminar.

I think it can be even more overwhelming for newcomers.

You can say that again.

So. What topics did the seminar cover?

Johanna

Well, we discussed things such as parenting methods and corporal punishment.

Those are very important topics.

They sure are. We also learned about some new ways to discipline our children. I think it’s important that as parents, we always try to improve.

That’s for sure! By the way, did you talk about at what age we are allowed to leave our children unsupervised at home?

That’s right! There is always room for improvement.

It really boils down to the fact that we all want what’s best for our children.

You know, we are going to discuss that at our next meeting. Why don’t you come with me?

I was thinking about asking you if I could go with you.

Of course you can. I’ll pick you up at 7:00 pm.

Let’s learn about raising a family in Canada!
