BBC Radio 2 • Is the most popular radio station in the

UK• 82% of listeners are over 35.• Plays music as well as broadcasters

discussing topics.• Uses a large number of different

presenters who make the radio programme interesting.

Why should we use this radio channel? This radio station is the most popular channel in the UK and therefore if our radio trailer appeared on it, it would be heard by a lot of people, as well as issues such as feminism sometimes being discussed, therefore may interest those who are interested in this. However, these people may not necessarily be our target audience and therefore it wouldn’t be appropriate to broadcast on this channel as it may not interest those listening as much.

BBC Radio 4

Why should we use this radio channel?Although this radio station focuses on important issues (such as meninism and feminism) and therefore our topic would fit in well in this respect, there would be a limited number of our target audience listening, and therefore it would be less appropriate for this to be shown in the documentary.

After researching into different radio stations that we could use to broadcast our radio trailer, we have decided to use BBC Radio 1, as many young people listen to this and so would be a direct link to our target audience, who may be interested in our topic.
