The Radio Frequency System Time Line

It appeared like a Soviet tool in 1945

In 1973 Mario Cardullo invented the true ancestor of RFID system

WHAT RFID IS? It is a non contact system that uses

radio frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer information to another for the purpose of automatic identification.

Ecuadorian government should implement this system as a solution for blind people problems because it will improve their navigation, will replace the methods used before, it will increase their dependence and also it will provide more security.

NAVIGATION SYSTEM:The RFID system improve the navigation in two kind of environments:

It provides travel information from location to another, describing position and location.

It can be inserted in pathways inside a building and give information about rooms numbers, corridors and also the name building.

INDOOR INFRASTRUCTURE

Is concerned with route of information from the origin to the destination.

It is waterproof and heat resistance.

This allows for a self describing, localized information system with no dependency on a centralized database

OUTDOOR INFRASTRUCTURE

the outdoor navigation

PROVIDE ONLINE INFORMATION Each RFID tag contains a unique ID and

it generally contains an antenna that creates a small charge that is enough to cause the tag to transmit its ID.

The blind person can be monitored receiving information from a central base for being help in case of emergency.

RFID SYSTEM AND OLD METHODS

They can decrease the dependence and self-esteem because have to stay with blind people permanently

Sighted Guides have to know a technique

The private nurses earn approximately $25.000 to $60.000 per month.

SIGHTED GUIDES

According Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, 15% of allergy sufferers are disabled people

The estimated of cost of the full training program are from $25,000 to $65,000 per dog.

The maintenance is approximately $5.000 annually.

The implementation of the RFID technology will permit blind children and adults gain confidence by themselves.

In indoor navigation is estimated that the cost to equip a floor is around $120 dollars this means a less cost than $1 per square foot.

The RFID System will increase the confidence and self-esteem

At some point in their lives visually impaired people begin to lose their confidence and self-esteem as a result they feel useless as a person.

The applications of the RFID method have been made with the purpose to help a visually impaired person feel confidently secure to transport themselves from one place to another as the system allows an autonomous mobilization

Institutions in USA and Italy had been analyzing the effectiveness of the system.According with the Central Michigan University they are working on a electronic cane, where they worked with 7 individuals people and they describe the system as easy to use, with a better organization in the orientation to get a safe information.New technology will  provide a blind person with audio directions to destinations.

The RFID will provide more security They provide security for the user and the

information stored, protecting the coordinates of navigation.

A professor of computer science at the University of Florida, he suggest that the information that each tag will contain will be administrated and controlled by a government entity or the mayor of the respective city.

The traffic police will update the network and control the information in the streets to avoid the incorrect manipulation of data

CONCLUSION.- The system is on this way to become a viable solution for aiding in the organization and navigation for the blind and partially sighted people.

This would allow the blind to save money and avoid a lot of expenses since the difference to maintain and pay the dog guide or human guides is quite large

System will increase their confidence enabling them to move independently and in an organized orientation in indoor and outdoor spaces and getting to be a more normal person in the society.

The security that this system provides for the person. This frequency radio will not allow the modification of the information
