QUESTIONNAIRE

RESULTS

Page 2: Questionnaire results

These are the results from the first question in my questionnaire ‘Are you male or female?’. Out of 9 responses 33.33% were male and 66.67% were female that answered my questionnaire.

Page 3: Questionnaire results

These are the results for the question ‘What is your age?’. 88.89% of people that answered my questionnaire were 17 or younger and 11.11% were 18-20 years old. These results could suggest that the answers I receive for this questionnaire will be an accurate representation of what my target audience are interested, and so will provide me with information on how to do my magazine.

Page 4: Questionnaire results

These are the results for the question ‘Are you currently enrolled as a student?’. The results show that 88.89% of participants are at high school or an equivalent (secondary school) and 11.11% of participants were in full time graduate school. This means that the results I am receiving are from students.

These are the results for the question ‘What genre of music do you like?’. These results show that the majority of people like pop music with 55.56% of the vote and do not like Rock, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Classical, and Reggae. This tells me that in my pop music magazine, I should keep it on pop al the way through, and not include any other genres. The results also tell me that students like pop music so my magazine target audience should focus on students as they are most likely to buy my magazine.

Page 6: Questionnaire results

These are the results for the question ‘Do you keep up to date with the charts?’. The results show that all of the participants keep up to date with the charts. This tells me that for my magazine I should include information on the charts to allow people to easily keep up to date with them. It also tells me that people reading my magazine are likely to know about new music, so I should include the newest music and artists in my magazine.

Page 7: Questionnaire results

These are the results for the question ‘How often do you listen to music?’. The results show that 88.89% of respondents listen to music daily and 11.11% listen to music weekly. This tells me that a lot of students are really into their music and so they are likely to buy a magazine that focus’ on the music. It could also suggest that the content of my magazine should be quite recent.

These are the results from the question ‘Do you go to any festivals?’. The results show that 8 out of the 9 people doing the questionnaire have not been to any festivals. This suggests that the majority of people have not experienced festivals and may not want to go to them, so in my magazine I should try and avoid the subject of festivals and should not advertise them.

Page 9: Questionnaire results

These are the results for the question ‘How much would you be prepared to pay for a music magazine?’. The results show that the majority of people would pay £0-£4 for a magazine. This tells me that I should charge around £4 for my magazine as people are more likely to by a magazine from £0 upwards but also are prepared to spend £8 as well.

These are the results for the question ‘Which type of magazine theme would you prefer to buy?’. The results show that the majority of people would prefer a brightly coloured magazine but would also like the magazine to include lots and lots of images. These results can help me decide on how to design my magazine to fit what the audience would want, and to increase the amount of readers.

• These are the results to the question ‘Out of these, which would you prefer to go to?’. The majority of people chose a Restaurant or a concert to which they would prefer to go. This tells me that 3 people would like to go to a concert, and that 3 people like music a lot. This also tells me that I should include some information on concerts in my magazine as a lot of people like concerts.

EVALUATION OF RESULTS…

Looking at my results, I can see what I need to include in my magazine and how I should design my magazine. I will keep my target audience as 18-25 year olds and will only include information on pop music. I will include bright colours and lots of images in my magazine and will not talk about festivals, only concerts. I will price my magazine at around £4 and will include information on the charts and up to date music. I will keep the magazine gender neutral and will write the article in a way that would connect with a teen audience.
