Quality Enhancement Plan
What is a QEP• Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
• a course of action that addresses a well-defined and focused topic related to enhancing student learning
• must be integrated into an WCC's ongoing planning and assessment activity• must be future focused • serves as a key component of the decennial reaffirmation process for SACSCOC
A QEP: includes a process identifying key issues emerging from
institutional assessment focuses on learning outcomes and/or the environment
supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution
demonstrates institutional capability for the initiation, implementation, and completion of the QEP
includes broad-based involvement of institutional constituencies in the development and proposed implementation of the QEP
identifies goals and a plan to assess their achievement

What is the purpose of the WCC QEP, WCC4ME?
WCC4ME is going to help first-time online learners be successful
Goals of the QEP• Increase Student Readiness of WCC early online learners
• Online Learning Success (OLS) course-mandatory• Use of SmarterMeasure Readiness tool
• Increase Student Persistence of WCC early online learners• Develop a module for online learners that will focus on ALL support &
resources available
• Increase Student Success of WCC early online learners• Create a learning community for early online learners• Professional Development of faculty
Actions of the QEP Project• Redesign of SDV 100 online• Require all students to complete the previously optional Online
Learning Success (OLS)course
• Includes SmarterMeasure Evaluation and Remediation
• WCC4ME Resource module – making online access to WCC resources equivalent to on campus resource access
Actions of the QEP Project• Create Learning Community for Early Online Learners• Students enrolling in SDV 100 online will be placed in online
sections specially designed to support early online learners• Online sections of courses listed below will work together to
create a learning community for these students• Academic subjects identified as most commonly co-enrolled
by students taking SDV 100 online• BIO 101 – Cindy Kincer• HIS 101 – Bill Grose• ITE 115 – Marc Nester• MTE 1-9 – Natasha Puckett• ENG 111 – Jason Settle

relative to WCC resources that support student success
