‘Q’ Magazine Double Page

ImagesLike many double page spreads only one image is used usually of the main person in the article in this case – Alicia Keys. Many images are place usually on one side of the page or take up both pages. Mode of address has been use to engage and entice the audience into the magazine and Alicia. Images give the audience a better understanding of the article and what it involves.

Masthead and HeadingBoth are present on this double page spread. The masthead is less visible as it is place in the bottom left hand corner alongside the page number. The heading is positioned at along the top of the page as it the most important feature on the page. The name of the person present in the article has been written in capital letters to make it more prominent with the rest of the heading written in lower case.

House Style/LayoutMany articles are laid out in columns to make the text more readable and clear to read. A common feature for large articles like this is to enlarge the beginning letter of the article which ‘Q’ do (- the ‘K’ has been made more visible than the rest).

Many double page spreads featured in ‘Q’ use the idea of placing the first letter of the models name behind the text and is usually written in a red font to follow the colour of the masthead.

Other featuresAs mentioned earlier, the masthead and page number are situated at the bottom left corner. The date is also present too. This is key information need for the magazine but not necessarily on every page but if you choose to do this then it has to be consistent with every page.

The name of the photographer has been discretely place in the red line connected to the ‘A’ this is to give credit to the photographer and give them exposure.
