The AMI School has been growing and changing over the years. Throughout the

Long history of the school and the many changes that have been integrated, one

thing that is most obvious is our passion and commitment to our children and

families.

All our efforts and resources are directed towards providing the best practices in

education with acceptance of diversity, respect of individuality and working

We lead the students to intellectual excellence and a strong character by ensuring

that these years are full of opportunities to explore their potential and abilities.

Morning assembly and break/afternoon assembly are the most important part of day and provide a wonderful opportunity for announcements, skits, presentations, introductions and sharing information.

A school canteen facility is available, providing snacks, which are hygienically prepared at the school kitchen. The most favorite among students are the scrumptious kebab rolls and French fries !

At Junior Branch, students are divided into four houses:: Kites, Hawks, Eagles and Falcons. Annual elections are held for House Captains and Vice Captains. They are responsible for the general discipline and also represent their houses in sports and other House events.

The Student council has 10 members

and comprises of Head boy, Head

girl, House captains and House vice

captains.

A weekly meeting is held

on every Monday during lunch

break. The council’s logo and motto

beautifully reflects the

school philosophy.

The A.M.I. School believes that the cognitive skills gained through core

academic coursework are critical, but that it is equally important for children to develop the social and emotional skills essential for lifelong success – skills best learned through a well-rounded, "holistic" curriculum.

This holistic approach to education encourages students to explore ideas and experiences that will help them become responsible and active participants in society.

Our ‘"Life Skills Program" aims to integrate the learning of such skills in the school. It has been introduced at the Junior and Senior and includes the following courses:

Roller skating

Taekwondo

Expert instructors and teachers are hired for these courses and the

classes are held every week. More courses are being added to create

a wider spectrum of interests and experiences for the students.

The Right-On Network is a youth network group initiated by CMPHR. Children under the age of 16 can join to work for social issues and human rights. We are very proud of the fact that a Right-On club has been working at the school for several years now. The main aims of the club is to help students:-

Learn skills such as problem solving, conflict resolution and communication

Realize that they can contribute towards creating a society which respects equality, diversity and values peace.

Realize that they should not follow the current trends and norms without really thinking them through.

Participate in social activism to bring positive changes in the society with non violent means.

Introduced nearly two years ago, awards are given to recognize and encourage effort and hard work . A wide spectrum has been created to provide opportunities for all to develop a sense of achievement and success. The students are awarded in the following categories:

- Superstar: Good conduct, responsible behavior, punctuality.

- Rising star: Outstanding performance in co-curricular activities.

- Good Citizenship: Responsible social behavior

- Perfect attendance: Present every school day

- Honor Roll: Academic achievement

- The A.M.I Scholar: Best writer of prose or poem (Class V-VI)

WWF has been conducting Spellathon: an environmental based spelling competition in schools across the nation since 15 years. It helps increase language skills including comprehension and vocabulary. More over, children learn about key environmental issues and need for conservation in a fun and easy manner. Our school also takes part in this activity every year to raise funds for the different conservation projects run by the World Wildlife Fund.

This competition is organized by an International Association “Mathematics without borders”. It provides an International recognition to the participating students at a very early stage in their lives. At the same time it connects the students with worldwide community.

The competition is usually held in March every year.

As part of its DAWN Education Program, the DAWN Group of Newspaper conducts National Spelling Championships all over Pakistan. They hold this championship on three levels:

“Reading is the key to unlocking children’s

future success”

A yearlong reading program which is aimed to

develop a love of reading. A new theme is

introduced at the beginning of each month

and various activities are planned to

encourage everyone to read some material

related to the theme! The most popular

themes are usually mystery, fantasy,

adventure and favorite author.

The “ drop everything and read “ (D.E.A.R.)

activity is thoroughly enjoyed by all as the

freedom to choose the setting for reading a

book is so exciting when it can be up a tree or

inside a tunnel

A project initiated and run by a group of individuals to involve the youth in

bringing about a change by getting actively involved in this process

Through this project children identify the change they want to see in their

society and take steps to make it happen.

As a part of this activity, students visited nearby school/offices to create

awareness and later took steps to protect their surroundings.

This initiative was named “Shaffaf Galiyan” and contributed greatly to the

cleanliness and beautification of the area.

Aims and objectives:- to enhance creative and writing skills in children

to develop interest in Urdu language

The school starts at 8.00 am sharp with the morning assembly which usually lasts for 10 to 15 minutes. The first half of the day has 4 periods of 40 minutes each. The lunch break is for 30 minutes. The bell again brings everyone to the playground for the break time assembly. The class teachers, then lead the classes back inside for the second half of the day which has 3 periods of 40 minutes each.

The monotony of formal classroom teaching is broken by class activities, art, library visit, computer lab , science lab, games , music and drama/movement sessions.

Student participation is encouraged at all times.

White boards are used in all classes and labs. Presentations and movie shows are organized at the library or the media room.

Home work Is given daily for Maths and English and Urdu.

Science and Environmental studies home work

is usually given thrice a week.

The lesson diary is used to record the work

done in class and home work given. Parent check and signature is

essential.

All corrections are done with green pens.

Language errors are marked in all

subjects.

Marks are not given till class V. Instead

grades are used according to a marking

scheme given in the Parent Handbook.
