leader. Inculcating positive psychology in leadership is a determining way of sculpturing your values as a

leader. Some invariable questions like how it exactly feels to lead others, or thorough exploration of

varied leadership styles, leadership effectiveness can help you become better leader. But at the same

Positive psychology invites new thinking abilities to Leadership

It is believed that positive performance can only be ensured when behaviours too extend in the most

positive way than what one normally expects. Negative behaviour always poses as threat and is defiant

to productive situation. A person emoting negativity is bound to affect those around him or her.

Repelling others with negative behaviour is not good since that means you have created disliking among

people around you and there is probable chance they will not consider you as their leader.

On the contrary, if you are positive you have to determine the extent of your positivity as a leader.

First you have to understand what organisational leadership is all about and what success looks like

eventually. Being a leader, you have to be particular about choosing certain words when motivating

employees, since improper application of words might call for disaster. Remember, certain

organisational and leadership behaviour can act as constraints like inhibiting, limiting or even shutting

down options. There should be no mincing with words rather your words are expected to motivate

others. That is the quality of a fine leader who stands tall above others with positive attitude and

emotional sense for inspiring others.

The strategies involved in cultivating a sense of positive attitude is through involving focus on soft skills,

emphasising mostly on relationships and communicating with others. It is believed that a positive leader

will never think about ‘I’, rather he will think about ‘we’ and ‘team’. You can do a lot for extending

positivity at work through following key ways.

Expressing gratitude and compassion and coaxing others to do the same

Your attitude should be forgiving, especially those who have made a mistake. Unless, you

forgive others you cannot bring justice to work and involve all employees to a targeted action

As a leader believing in positivity, you should apply your own strengths. It is not everything to

plough in good result within organisation but also identifying others’ strengths and also giving

them opportunities to use the same

Your next objective is to reinforce contribution over achievement, since it proves the best way

of bringing more mileage within organisation by encouraging employees

As a leader your last effort should be enabling people connect work to personal values so that

they feel valuable to self

Thus, it is evident how positive psychology of a leader within an organisation can bring yielding results

by proving effective for both employees and managers. Understanding psychology of mind and

inculcating positivity within for controlling the crowd at large can be highly difficult unless you know

how positive psychology works. Dissecting human minds and getting deeper into its layers is feasible

through a course in it. While you stay engaged with an organisation and try to understand your

employees, we suggest that you pursue Psychology course through distance learning. Main advantage is

you don’t have to leave your job and also you get enlightening knowledge and internationally

recognised qualification like your regular courses.

After all, a positive leader is he who holds the helm without ruling others but coordinating strengths of

others with hopes.
