Hake Stew (Portuguese recipe)

Ingredients for 6 people:

“slices” of hake enough for 6 people (depends on the size ...)

3 onions, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon margarine

0.5 dl olive oil

4 bay leaves

6 tablespoons of tomato paste

1 glass of white wine

Half glass of water

Salt

Pepper

Preparation:

1. season the fish with salt (not much);

2. in a pan put the olive oil and heat the margarine. Once hot, add the onion, garlic and

bay leaves. Let it cook for just a little bit;

3. add the tomato paste, white wine and water.Let it cook for 2 minutes;

4. place the slices of hake into the pan and add a little pepper.Cover and let them cook

for 5 minutes.

Turn the slices upside down and let them cook another 5 minutes;

Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes and boiled vegetables.
