Setting

Grab the reader’s attention

Questions are raised & curiosity is aroused.

Description of Setting Elaborate with a snapshot of the character/ object setting. I t lets the reader experience he’s there.

Answer questions about story- critical character/object/setting.

Show what feelings look, sound, and feel like. Don’t simply ‘tell’.

Purpose

Build Suspense What is the story about? Give hints of what is going to happen. Make the reader wonder & worry along with the main character.

Guidelines for Homework

Duration for each piece of work will be given to pupils as a guide.

Longer duration will be set aside for more tedious work (eg: practice paper; challenging problems)

Space out practice papers to help pupils to cope.

Total duration spent on homework to be capped at 2 hours per day. (additional 2 hours during weekend)
