Primary 2 in the classroomThe children in Primary 2 have worked hard to create a class charter which is displayed in the classroom for all children to see. The class charter reflects our Positive Ethos policy and school values to encourage positive behaviour and attitudes in the classroom and around the school and playground. The school values are Responsible, Respectful, Friendly, Enthusiastic, Inclusive and Successful.

We want our classroom to be a place where children feel safe, respected and ready to learn.

Most of all, we want it to be a place where learning is relevant and fun!

HomeworkSpelling – Spelling homework is set on a Monday and should be handed in by Friday each week. Children are tested on spelling words on Friday.

Reading – – Reading books will be issued on a Monday and a Thursday. The children will have opportunities to read in class and explore their book through discussion and reading activities. Practising reading and writing the Common words is very helpful to the children.

Maths – Maths homework will be given on a Monday and should be handed in by the Friday each week. Your child should have an idea how to complete this homework as it will link to what they have been learning in class.

Other homework relating to IDL and other Curricular areas may be given throughout the year where appropriate.

If you have any questions or comments about your child’s homework please do not hesitate to write a note in his/her homework jotter or contact me directly to discuss.
