In 1770, James Cook sailed along and

mapped the east coast of Australia, which

he called New South Wales and claimed

for the United Union.

Cook's discoveries prepared the way for

the creation of a new penal colony. The

British Crown Colony of New South

Wales was formed on 26 January 1788,

when Captain Arthur Phillip led the First

Fleet to Port Jackson.

This date became Australia Day, the

main national holiday in the country.

Papua New Guinea has English as

the official language because of the

long fixed countries that dominated

its territory: Spain, Portugal,

Holland, Germany, UK, Australia and

Japan considering that most of these

have English as an official language

then we can say that this is because

of the influence of outside cultures

The New Zealand was one of the last

colonizated by human beings.

Hobson declared British sovereignty

over all of New Zealand on May 21,

1840, even though copies of the Treaty

were still on circulation. With the

signing of the Treaty and declaration of

sovereignty the number of immigrants,

particularly from the United Kingdom,

began arriving in increasing numbers.
