What is Tech Teachers?Johnston Community College professional development series for K-12 educators focused on hands-on integration of technology tools and resources to facilitate student centered, inquiry based learning environments. Why Tech Teachers?
Desire to increase JCC offerings to wider audience (i.e., FTE!)
Lack of cost-effective professional development opportunities for K-12 educators tailored to integrating technology into classroom instruction (e.g., most PD is software packages or targeted to early childhood educators)
Expand knowledge of continuing education program development (JCC has Curriculum and Continuing Education in ONE division)

Lessons Learned for the Future
Start course one week after school closes
Advertise with non-traditional school programs (Catholic Diocese, non-public schools, expanded area for local school systems)
Better advertising of the multi-course/session format to ensure potential participants understand that they can take all offerings for one fee
Teach course in a hybrid format (i.e., 12 hours F2F, 12 hours online)
Vary instructors if course is taught entirely F2F
Investigate teaching the course in fully online format to be offered during (Fall/Spring semester)
