WHAT DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE LEARNT FROM

USING TECHNOLOGY?

THEN AND NOW

When I first began with filming my media project I had no idea about any of these sorts of equipment. And now I would

say that I'm pretty good with using a canon ( except changing the brightness) and making sure its secured to the tripod.

Getting used to the Canon’s was difficult. I thought that I would just need to press a button and it would work to my

likening but of course I did have to learn the in’s and out’s of the Canon’s. I wanted each shot to be as close to perfect as

possible so some scenes in my film took 52 takes (i:e the blood drop scene.) I had to remember to shoot during the day

rather than early evening as although the camera could adjust the lighting I wanted it to be as natural as possible but I

did play around with the light.

Using Photoshop was also a challenge at first. I wasn’t sure of what special effects I could use and what would work well.

I mainly stuck to using the “razor tool” and using the “film dissolve” as these are what I felt comfortable using the most.

Choosing the right music was very, very hard as every time I would choose something it would either loop too much or it

wasn’t appropriate. I changed from using violin to piano and I finally found the right music.

Again I struggled finding the right titles as I wanted a news paper style title and every time I would choose one I

wouldn’t match. I finally stuck to using Times New Roman as it was the closest to newspaper font I could find.

WHAT HAVE I LEANRT FROM USING THIS TECHNOLOGY?

I have learnt how easy it is to operate a Canon

camera and how important it is to match the lighting

to the location as having the lighting too bright can

ruin ones film opening. I also learnt how to use photo

shop to an extent and that font can change

someone's opinion on what they are watching.
