This shows that the large majority of my audience that filled out the survey are female. Which may mean that my target audience is mostly female.
This shows that the target age range for my magazine would be between 16-25 and no older than 35.
This helps me to determine that most of my audience are not regular magazine buyers which is good as they may be open to try new things as they do not have a favourite of which they buy every issue.
This tells me that the price of my issue should be between £2.00- and £3.00 as that is what most are willing to pay.
The 3 most popular music genres from my survey are pop, R n B and House. This shows me that I should use these genres in my magazine in order to appeal to the largest audience.
The most popular places to buy magazines are either newsagents or supermarkets.
There is a wide variety of previous magazine purchases and most of the participants don’t know or have never bought one before. However, out of the people that have, the most popular and easily available magazines (Kerrang and NME) are the ones that they have previously bought.
The majority of participants said that they read magazines in order to fill time. This could be on trains for example. This helps me to determine that they read the magazines for leisure purposes.
This question has given me a good idea of what content is most important to have in my magazine. From this I can determine that interviews and photographs will appeal to the widest audience and therefore must be a key element in my magazine.
The response to this question tells me that the participants take part in a variety of activities, the most popular being listening to music and using the internet. This could help me with my magazine as I could integrate the use of social media into some of my content. It also tells me that my readers like to participate in a number of activities in their free time.
