Magazine Institutions are the people who produces and makes the magazine. There's different institutions for different magazine genres.

There are also music magazine institutions such as MTV, and Kerrang.

Music magazine institutions produce the magazine according to the genre, however MTV sponsors a lot of music genres including, hip-hop, R&B, grime, soul, and pop.

The BBC institution is 1 of the most popular institution in the UK. They produce a number of magazines from different genre of magazines for example, Cbeebies. Cbeebies is a children's program ran by the BBC, as well as a website and a magazine.Cbeebies is aimed at children 4-7years. The BBC also produce children's music magazines, for instance, Top Of The Pops. Top Of The Pops is a children's music magazine age 7-13. it includes information about young teenage pop-stars, actors, and teenage films. An example of a children's film is High School Musical…an example of a young music artist is Justin Bieber.

The BBC also produce food magazines such as Olive. These magazines aim at adults. They include recipes and latest information about chefs in the UK. The magazine also includes any food shows, competitions and health tips. This attracts their target audience, people who are into healthy eating and like to cook.

Top Gear is another genre that the BBC produce. Top Gear is an entertaining car magazine that targets middle ages men or young men that are into car entertainment. The magazine includes any information about the latest cars of all sorts, sports car, mini, or a 4by4. In each issue, there's a lot of metal, the place for new cars, Faces with Jeremy Clarkson and James May, They discuss the latest and best cars out now.

Producing so many magazines of different genres by the same institutions is good because it widens the target audience throughout the UK, and more of the magazines will get sold.

Smash Hits magazine is aimed at children & teenager music magazine produced by Emap in the UK. It features all the latest pop artist, music, gossip and fashion.

IPC Media (formerly International Publishing Corporation). It is a consumer magazine and digital publisher in the United Kingdom, with a large portfolio selling over 350 million copies each year.

NME (The New Musical Express), is a music magazine that doesn’t have a specific genre because it includes all music genres. Bauer institution is Europe's biggest privately owned publishing group. H Bauer brands include women's weekly and TV listings magazines; namely Bella, Take a Break, that's life! TV Choice and Total TV Guide as well as a number of puzzle magazines. As well as a magazine the Bauer institution also has a Bauer radio. Bauer radio is a UK-based division of Bauer Media Group. Every week 12.4 million people listen to Bauer media radio.

Take a Break and that's life! Are both real life magazines.Take A Break sits in the true life market of the women's weekly sector. Up until 2005 there were only three women's magazines dedicated to delivering true life editorial, one of which was H Bauer's sister title, that's life! (launched in 1995). Both magazines attract all women. Within the magazine it includes real life stories and problems. It also can include puzzle, for instance crosswords.

TV Choice and Total TV Guide are TV magazines including what's on the television for example films or new programs. In 1991 there were two launches What's on TV was launched by IPC media and H Bauer launched TV Quick which sought to provide readers with a listings magazine that combined women's weekly magazine features. This attracted the women audience to buy the magazine. This also widens the target audience.
