1.0 INTRODUCTION The term information seeking behavior has been

used in the research literature about scientists and researchers since the 1950's.

Understanding the process of information seeking can help to answer questions such as:

what should the library and information skills curriculum encompass;

what specific skills and processes should be taught; what are the appropriate teaching methods; and what is the relationship of the library and information skills

curriculum to the academic curriculum.

6.0 CONCLUSSION

I hope that Wilson models present some of the main themes in modern information science in a way that is clear and useful and, as such, may serve as a step towards a general model of information behaviour.
