Evaluation Question 4 -How did you use new media technologies in the

construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

BloggerO The main and most important technology that I used consistently throughout both

years of my media course is blogger. The reason that blogger was so useful throughout the year was It allowed for me to upload all of my work and research onto on central place which can then be viewed by anyone. Blogger also allowed for me to split my work into different sections such as research, music video, evaluation etc. Another advantage of using blogger is that it keeps everything nicely organised as I was able to create as many subheadings as I wanted which makes it easier for any user to be able to see a specific post.

O A last reason that blogger was useful was because it allows for other technologies to be implemented into the blog posts such as prezi, slideshare and youtube.

YoutubeO A second technology that was also very important throughout the year was Youtube.

This was used at the start of the year in the research and planning stage to view other media products and to gain knowledge about the different conventions that most music videos conform too. Youtube allowed me to pause different sections of music videos and allowed for me to highlight and analyse them to see what I would like to use when I created my own.

O Youtube was also used at the end of the year as this was the website that we used to upload our music video. Youtube gives a section to give user feedback which also helped us when deciding what needed to be changed to improve the video. A final advantage was this technology was easily implemented into blogger as well as our own websites.

WixO Wix is another technology that helped me greatly while I was creating my media

ancillary products. Wix was the technology that was used during the process and development of the eXistence website. The advantage of using Wix to create this website is that it has plenty of professional and realistic templates which gives a good starting point for creating the website. The design interface while using Wix is also extremely helpful as you can add and customise as many different pages as you would like

O Wix also allowed for my other products to be featured on the website so this Is another big advantage as it allows for any user to have a central viewing place for all the products that I have created for eXistence.

SlideshareO Slideshare is one of the simplest technologies that I have used throughout all the

different stages of the media course this year. This is a very simple piece of technology however it has been extremely useful.

O Slideshare allows for information to be placed onto a power point and then inserted directly on the blog, this allows for a much cleaner viewing of information rather than just a big block of text being inserted. Slidshare also gave me the chance to separate different sections information and give them there own slideshow, this therefore meant that my blog was much more neat and organised.

iMovieO iMovie was the software that we used to actually edit the movie together

and create the final version. iMovie gave me the opportunity to piece many different clips together to create a professional looking video. Different tools were available on the software such as the split tool which allowed for me to split long sections of footage into short few second clips so that it would match the beat of the music. The music video could then be exported from iMovie so that it would be In a suitable format to upload to youtube.
