Opening Prayer

Dear Lord, we thank you for the light of this new day and for the hope that awakes us this morning.

Grant that we may start this day with joy in the light of your Love.

Being the busy person that we are, our demanding schedule has often caused to take you for granted unintentionally.

But now we really want to devote to you this time because we love you and we need you in our lives.

Dear Lord, we offer this gathering to you, and ask you to bless it with your wisdom and grace.

We thank you for this opportunity to be together to grow in our love and service of you and of each other.

We ask you to enlighten our minds to know what is true and just, and strengthen our wills to carry out faithfully what we come to see as our duty.May all our thoughts, words and actions be directed to making your name and your love better known among men, for their sanctification and their happiness here and in eternity. Amen

V. What is the Grading system? The K-12 Basic Education Program uses a standards and compentency- based grading system. These are found in the curriculum guides. All grades will be based on the weighted raw of the learners’ summative assessments. The minimum grade needed to pass a specific learning area is 60, which is transmuted to 75 in the report card. The lowest mark that can appear on the report card is 60 for quarterly grades and final grades.

Page 23: Measurement and evaluation k 12 grading system

A. How is learner progress recorded and computed? For kindergarten – Guidelines specific to the assessment of kindergarten learners will be issued in a different memorandum or order.

For Grades 1 to 12 – In a grading period, there is one quarterly assessment but there should be instances for students to produce written work and to demonstrate what they know and can do through performances Tasks.

Page 24: Measurement and evaluation k 12 grading system

The following are the steps in computing for the final grades

STEP 1: Grades from all student work are added up. This results in the total score for each component, namely written work, performance tasks, and quarterly assessment.

Raw scores from each component have to be converted to a percentage score. This is to ensure that values are parallel to each other.
