Introduction■ This is a pitch, which showcases my ideas for a new music magazine.■ I have now completed my research, and I am ready to pitch my

magazine.■ The pitch will include the basic information about the magazine, a

description of the content that will be in the magazine, and a reader profile.

About the magazine■ The name of the music magazine that I am creating is Contempo■ The meaning of the word contempo is a shortened version of the

word contemporary, which means following or showing the latest style or fad.

■ The name of the magazine reflects the fact that my magazine is current and up to date.

■ The word tempo is also part of the magazine name. This makes the name more appropriate for a music magazine, because tempo is the speed at which music is played.

More about the magazine■ The magazine will be released monthly, and it will cost £4. This price

is quite low, so it could attract more readers to buy the magazine.■ The magazine is fairly similar to magazines such as Q or NME.

However, I will not copy any elements from the magazines.■ Contempo will have a distinct brand, and it is designed to be

instantly recognisable to readers.

Mission Statement■ Contempo is a new music magazine, which is

designed to cover most of the current popular genres of music. The magazine will cover a variety of bands and artists, to ensure that the magazine attracts a wide range of readers.

■ Contempo keeps it’s readers up to date about every aspect of the music industry, making sure that readers always know what is happening.

■ Contempo will be one of the major sources of news and information about music for it’s readers. Without Contempo, many people will be missing out on lots of important music news.

■ Contempo is designed for a wide range of readers, from different ages, genders and social class.

What’s in the magazine?The magazine will include the following:

■ Articles about new artists and bands who are becoming more popular.■ Reviews of the most popular albums that are currently in the charts.■ Interviews with popular artists and bands■ A competition, which will be a chance to win tickets to a concert or

music festival.

Each issue of the magazine will have about 120 pages.
