Research shows that families that provide a stimulating, language-rich, supportive environment for learning have a larger

probability to have children with adequate school adaptation and achievements.

When children come to school prepared with proper attitude, habit and skill to

take the fullest advantage of the teacher’s instruction, their motivation for

in-school learning increases as well as their self-esteem.

Schools can support parents in providing a positive learning

environment at home. In return, children's motivation for learning in-

school would help to enhance the teacher’s own effectiveness and

satisfaction.

A positive learning environment at home is more a powerful support of children's

school achievements than the parents’ level of education or socioeconomic status.

Parents can learn a lot from their children, especially when it comes to ICT tools, but

only if the children are treated as competent, equal partners
