Poster 1: A Ken Loach film

The black and white poster reminds me of a classic British film because American film posters usually look more glamorous and classy and it reminds me of a working class sort of film due to the black and white colours.

The lighting in this film poster isn’t saturated and uses low key lighting so it makes the viewers of the poster think the film will be a dark, non atmospheric film.

Eric is holding an Eric Cantona mask which emphasises the film will be based on football.

Poster 2: A romantic Comedy

This poster makes the audience think that the film will be more of a romantic comedy because the poster has a woman standing and smiling next to Eric and the poster shows Eric holding a bunch of flowers, probably for her. Also the lighting is more saturated in this poster which emphasises the romantic side of the film more.

The facial expressions of Eric and Eric Cantona’s faces add the comedic side to this film poster as Eric’s facial expressions look quite dopey or in a day-dream and Eric Cantona’s facial expressions look confused.

The tagline of the film is ‘Everybody’s looking for a hero. Some of us find them’. This highlights the romantic side of the film even more because it can relate to Eric finding his hero (the woman) and can relate to the woman finding her hero (Eric)

Poster 3: A Football film

This poster resembles a football film because the background colour of the poster is red, relating to Man U football club. Also Eric Cantona is on the poster, and he used to be a footballer. Furthermore, Eric is standing with his arms in the air looking like he had just scored a goal and he is wearing a Man U t-shirt.

The fact that the tagline says ‘It all began with a beautiful pass…from Cantona’ suggests that the film is definitely going to be about football as it sounds like something a commentator would say at a football match.

Poster 4: A British MovieThis poster looks like a British movie because it doesn’t use as glamorous colours as American films.

Also the film poster states that Eric Cantona is in the film and he used to be a British footballer, therefore this emphasises the film being a British film.

The background colour shows red which can relate to the football side of the film, linking to Man U football club.

The fact that there is a group of men standing together in the poster can relate to other British movie posters such as ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘This is England’ as there are a group of people together standing underneath the main part of the poster.
