HE WAS FROM FRANCE. SO, HE WAS FRENCH.

JULES VERNEHE STUDIED AT SCHOOL IN NANTES. WHEN HE GREW UP, HE MOVED TO PARIS, THE CAPITAL OF FRANCE, TO STUDY AT UNIVERSITY. HE STUDIED LAW BUT HE DIDN´T LIKE IT THAT MUCH. WHAT HE REALLY LOVED WAS WRITING BOOKS.

JULES VERNEThis book is about a man called Phileas Fogg

that used to spend his free time at the “Reform Club” playing cards (whist) with his friends.

One day, he placed a bet of 20.000 pounds saying that he could go around the world in 80

days. Nobody believed he could get it since they didn’t have the technologies (planes,

internet, telephone,…) that we have today. If he failed, he would lose half of his fortune.

That day, they heard that there was a bank robbery and the thief got away with 50.000 pounds. Detective Fix thought that Mr. Fogg

was the thief and tried to catch him throughout the journey.
