Vibe magazine is apart of a corporation with Spin Media.Founded by Quincy Jones the publication mainly features R&B and hip-hop music artists, actors and other entertainers.This magazine is unique as it features a broader range of interests than its close competitors such as The Source and XXL, who focus only on rap music.

• Further to their successful magazine vibe also publishes books on hip hop culture and began a spin off magazine called vibe Vixen aimed at their female multicultural demographic.

• Originally it was launched in partnership with ‘Time Inc’ until it was bought out and is now produced by Spin Media corporation who produce a range of other music sources.

• Spin media shut down the print magazine in 2013 and focused on their online presence to compete economically in the digital age.

• Also in the 1997 they had a syndicated late-night talk show produced by Quincy jones aimed at a similar young urban audience like their magazine.

• The Vibe brand also featured on digital platforms; such as CD and DVD lines, ‘Mvibe’ a wireless content provider, VIBE Film and VLN TV – vibe on demand. They had a strong online presence with their branding of ‘Vibe Online’, they now continue with this as Vibe Magazine is no longer in publication.

• Bauer Media Group is Europe's largest privately owned publishing group that has a worldwide empire offering over 230 magazines over different media forms such as online, TV and radio stations.

• MOJO is music magazine known worldwide for journalism, iconic photography and classic rock music. Specifically it is known for promoting artists like The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan, Oasis and The Artic Monkeys.

• Mojo is unique as it is aimed at middle aged men who enjoy classic rock and want to relive the ‘Glory days’. Also in every issue they offer a free CD that links to the current issues theme.

• Mojo is distributed monthly in the UK it is published by Bauer Media Group who also publish their sister magazine Q, similarly both magazines have a special edition about musical times, genres, or an influential musician.

• MOJO also have a digital radio station and a website as well as their magazine. This helps them to stay relevant in this digital age and makes them more accessible for a younger audience as well.
