1. Nike World Cup again

Nike is now bringing its support to the host nation of the World Cup through the creation of a huge interactive

billboard affixed to one of the most prominent buildings in Johannesburg, the Life Centre. Fans from all over the world are invited to submit a 57-character inspirational message

that 'writes the future' of their favourite player through Facebook Mxitt and QQ.

this campaign sees 100 fan-generated headlines selected each night to be displayed on Africa's largest LED screen,

measuring 44x42 metres. If your message is displayed, you receive a personalised notification with a picture of your headline and the accompanying animation of your player.So far fans have 'written the future' of the likes of Rooney ('Just Roo it!'), Drogba ('Beware of the Drog!') and Ronaldo

(Ronaldastico!).

An interesting viral campaign that ran last year. On good Friday 2009, a fake

email was sent to 2 largest dutch news sites from some guy from

amsterdam claiming that he saw picture of jesus in his kit kat. He sent

them 2 photos as a proof and the story was picked up straight away.

within only a few days it appeared on more than 100,000 sites.

3. New store in NYC

Urban Outfitters, a Philadelphia-based retailer, is opening up a new store in

New York City that will resemble a series of local mom-and-pop shops.

The store’s facade would be split into four storefronts to look like a hat

store, a hardware store, a neighborhood bar and a bodega, all reminiscent of what New York City

once looked like.

In Germany A dental surgeon Dr. Rathenow wanted to promote his orthodontist services, however German guidelines for advertising any doctor practice are very strict. He came

up with promotional soothers that he distributed out to young children’s parents, each of the soothers coming with a business card. He got 19 new appointments out of 100

soothers that he handed out and gained image of a friendly doctor with sense of

humour.

5. Free flights for influencers

San Francisco-based Klout, a company that tracks influencers and impact through opinions, links and

recommendations across users’ online “social graph” has partnered with Virgin America to offer individuals with

significant influence free flights on the airline’s new route.The airline, who is testing new flights between Toronto, San

Francisco and Los Angeles will give qualified influencers free round-trip airfare, free wifi on the flight and an invitation to Virgin America’s Toronto Launch Event.Klout measures data through user-created content, indicating influence through interaction and size of

networks.
